IT TIPS THE SCALES AT JUST OVER 3,800 POUNDS AND COMES WITH BIG DISC BRAKES AND AN INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION. NOW YOU CAN GET IT WITH EITHER A SIX SPEED MANUAL OR AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, AND IT WILL RUN THE QUARTER MILE IN THE 12 SECOND ZONE, NOT BAD FOR A FIVE LITER. (MIKE)>> THE VERY FIRST STEP TO THIS INSTALL IS REMOVING
THE FACTORY TUNE OR CALIBRATION FROM THE CAR AND LOADING IT ONTO THE SUPPLIED DIABLO SPORT INTUNE THAT'S IN THE KIT. THEN YOU TAKE THIS, TRANSFER IT TO YOUR PC, AND EMAIL IT INTO PRO CHARGER. NOW THAT'S BECAUSE THERE'S SO MANY DIFFERENT CALIBRATIONS FOR THESE NEW MUSTANGS. THE GUYS AT PRO CHARGER WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT TUNE FOR YOUR VEHICLE TO MAKE AWESOME POWER. IT'S NOT LIKE THE OLD DAYS WHEN ONE TUNE WORKED ON ALL VEHICLES. I'LL GET THIS HANDLED WHEN PAT STARTS THE TEAR DOWN UNDER THE HOOD.
(PAT)>> BY REMOVING THE FASTENERS, SECURING THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE STRUT TOWER AND STUD. NOW THE FOUR NUTS ARE LOOSENED AND THE STRUT TOWER IS PULLED OFF. THIS CAR IS SO NEW THAT IT EVEN HAS THE EMBLEM PROTECTORS ON STILL, BUT NOT NOW. BY PULLING STRAIGHT UP, THE ENGINE COVER CAN BE REMOVED. UNHOOKING THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, DISCONNECTING SEVERAL HOSES, AND REMOVING A BOLT WILL ALLOW THE AIR BOX AND INLET TUBE ASSEMBLY TO COME OUT. NOW THE SOUND TUBE IS REMOVED. FOR DID THIS TO GIVE YOU MORE OF THE VEIGHT SOUND INSIDE THE CABIN. A SUPPLIED GROMMET FROM PRO CHARGER IS INSTALLED TO BLOCK THE HOLE. THE FRONT OF THE CAR CAN BE RAISED AND PLACED ON JACK STANDS AT THIS POINT. THIS ALLOWS US TO REMOVE ALL OF THE HARDWARE SO THE FRONT FASCIA CAN BE REMOVED. NOW THE BUMPER BRACES COME OFF ALONG WITH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE RADIATOR SHROUDS. WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK.
(MIKE)>> WELCOME BACK.
THIS STAGE TWO PRO CHARGER SYSTEM IS GOING TO INCREASE THE POWER IN OUR MUSTANG GT BY 250 TO 300 HORSEPOWER. NOW THAT REQUIRES MORE FUEL DELIVERY TO THE ENGINE. SO THEY SUPPLY THESE 1,000cc OR 95 POUND AN HOUR INJECTORS TO GET THE JOB DONE. NOW IN ORDER TO SWAP THEM OUT THE FUEL RAIL HAS TO BE REMOVED. THE BRACKETS AND FOAM INSULATORS OVER THE FUEL RAILS ARE PULLED OUT THE WAY. SO ARE THE COOLANT LINES THAT RUN OVER THE TOP OF THE RAILS. WITH A SCOTT SHOP TOWEL UNDER THE SUPPLY LINE,
WE CAN DISCONNECT IT AND LET THE TOWEL SOAK UP ANY
FUEL THAT COMES OUT. NOW DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FROM THE INJECTORS AND REMOVED THE FOUR BOLTS SECURING THE RAIL. NOW LIFT THE RAIL WITH THE INJECTORS OFF THE ENGINE. SWAPPING THE INJECTORS IS EASY. JUST MAKE SURE THE ORINGS ARE LUBED AND THEY WILL GO RIGHT IN. WITH THE SUPPLIED FUEL RAIL SPACERS IN PLACE, THE RAIL GOES BACK IN WITH NEW HARDWARE, AND ALL THE FACTORY PIECES ARE REATTACHED. WITH THE COOLANT DRAINED WE CAN REMOVE THE HOSE TO THE FACTORY THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND THE ACTUAL HOUSING. THIS NEW PRO CHARGER PIECE GOES ON USING THE FACTORY HARDWARE, AND THE ORIGINAL HOSE REATTACHES. THIS MOVES THE HOSE AWAY FROM THE ENGINE FOR SUPERCHARGER BELT CLEARANCE.
THE COOLANT RESERVOIR CAN BE REMOVED. IT IS NOT REUSED. NOW WE CAN REMOVE THE BALANCER BOLT.
(PAT)>> PRO CHARGER USES A UNIQUE CRANK
SHAFT PULLEY SETUP.
IT HAS CAM LOCKS ON THE BACK THAT ARE A PATENTED DESIGN THAT STRADDLE THE STOCK BALANCER STRUTS. THEY ROTATE TO LOCK THEMSELVES INTO POSITION TO AVOID ANY ROTATION BETWEEN THE CRANK SHAFT AND THE PULLEY ITSELF ONCE IT'S INSTALLED. THE PULLEY GOES INTO PLACE AND THE SUPPLIED BALANCER BOLT IS FINGER TIGHTENED. NOW ROTATE THE PULLEY COUNTER CLOCKWISE UNTIL THE CAM LOCKS STOP IT FROM ROTATING. WITH THE BALANCER BOLT LIGHTLY SNUG, TIGHTEN THE SIX CAM LOCK BOLTS. FINALLY THE BALANCER BOLT IS TORQUED TO 75 POUND FEET.
(MIKE)>> NOW THE BRACKET AND HEAD UNIT PORTION OF THE ASSEMBLY HAPPENS. ONE THING TO POINT OUT IS PRO CHARGER'S DETAILED
INSTRUCTION MANUAL. THE PHOTOS ARE IN COLOR AND THE STEPS ARE DETAILED, EVEN DOWN TO WHAT TOOL IS REQUIRE FOR EACH STEP. THE FIRST ONE FOR THIS SECTION IS TO REMOVE TWO TIMING COVER BOLTS AND THE UPPER ALTERNATOR NUT. THE SUPPLIED SUBBRACKET IS BOLTED TO THE TIMING COVER USING NEW HARDWARE. NOW REMOVE THE UPPER MOST TIMING COVER BOLT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, ALONG WITH THE UPPER MOST THERMOSTAT HOUSING BOLT. UNPLUG THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTAKE CAM SENSOR AND REROUTE THE HARNESS AWAY FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE. NOW REMOVE THE RADIATOR BRACKETS, INSTALL THE SUPPLIED ISOLATORS, AND INSTALL THE NEW SUPPLIED RADIATOR BRACKETS FROM THE KIT. THEY MOVE THE RADIATOR FORWARD FOR SUPERCHARGER CLEARANCE. A HEX STAND OFF IS PLACED ON THE ALTERNATOR STUD, AND THE SUPERCHARGER BRACKET ASSEMBLY IS PUT IN PLACE. IT IS POSITIONED IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE CYLINDER HEAD AND ATTACHES WITH FOUR FASTENERS FOR A RIGID, ROCK SOLID MOUNT. THAT'S A SIGN WE'RE CLOSE TO MOUNTING THIS BRAND NEW PONEX HEAD UNIT, BUT FIRST WE'VE GOT TO TAKE A BREAK.
(MIKE)>> WE'RE BACK AND SO FAR WE'VE REMOVED SEVERAL COMPONENTS FROM A 2016 MUSTANG GT TO MAKE WAY FOR A PRO CHARGER SUPERCHARGER SYSTEM. NOW THE MAIN BRACKET JUST WENT ON. NOW WE'RE READY TO TALK ABOUT PRO CHARGER'S NEWLY RELEASED PONEX HEAD UNIT. NOW THIS IS A NEWLY DESIGNED SUPERCHARGER THAT IS MORE EFFICIENT AND MAKES MORE POWER THAT IT'S PREDECESSOR, THE PONESC DASH ONE.
WALT SIPP IS PART OF THE DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING TEAM, AND WILL FILL US IN ON WHAT MAKES THIS SUPERCHARGER SO GOOD.

ON THIS PARTICULAR MUSTANG THIS IS A STANDARD SUPERCHARGER THAT WE WOULD NORMALLY SELL WITH IT. YOU'RE GONNA SEE ABOUT A 65 TO 70 PERCENT HORSEPOWER GAIN. HOWEVER, THE PONEX, THE NEW SUPERCHARGER, HAS ITS LINEAGE DATED TO OUR HIGH EFFICIENCY WHEELS, THE FONEX AND THE FTHREEX. THIS SUPERCHARGER IS CAPABLE OF ANYWHERE FROM EIGHT TO 15 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER MORE THAN OUR PONESC DASH ONE AT THE SAME BOOST LEVEL.
(MIKE)>> WHAT ARE SOME OF THE PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO BLOWERS?
(WALT)>> WELL THE BIGGEST THINGS YOU'LL NOTICE IS THAT THE PONESC DASH ONE HAS A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT SHAPE OF IMPELLER WHEEL AND HAS A MORE ROUNDED STYLE VOLUTE. WHERE THE PONEX HAS A MORE FLAT, THICKER VOLUTE WITH A DIFFERENT SHAPED, HIGHER EFFICIENCY IMPELLER WHEEL.

(MIKE)>> THAT'S PRETTY IMPRESSIVE. THE PONEX IS A SELF CONTAINED OIL UNIT, MEANING IT DOES NOT RELY ON ANY ENGINE OIL LUBRICATION. THAT MEANS NO TAPPING INTO THE OIL PAN. IT DOES USE A DRAIN LINE TO MAKE OIL CHANGES TO THE BLOWER EASIER WHEN THE TIME COMES, WHICH IS AROUND 5,000 TO 6,000 MILES. THIS UNIT REQUIRES ONE BOTTLE OF PRO CHARGER'S
LUBE FOR A FILL. THEY SEND YOU ENOUGH FOR ABOUT 20,000 MILES WORTH OF
SERVICE WITH EACH KIT.

SUPER STRONG BRACKET WITH SOCKET HEAD CAP SCREWS. NOW ROUTE THE BELT FROM THE CRANK PULLEY TO THE
SUPERCHARGER PULLEY.
WITH THE FACTORY IDLER PULLEY BOLT REMOVED, PLACE THE SUPPLIED IDLER SHAFT INTO THE FACTORY IDLER PULLEY. NOW PLACE THE SUPPLIED PRO CHARGER IDLER PULLEY ON THE
SHAFT AND TIGHTEN IT DOWN WITH THEIR FASTENER.
(PAT)>> PRO CHARGER MAKES ALL OF THEIR INTERCOOLERS IN HOUSE, AND THIS PARTICULAR ONE IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR 2015 LATER MUSTANGS, INCLUDING THE GT 350. IT FEATURES A FOUR INCH CORE AND EXTRA LARGER TANKS, AND
INCORPORATES THE MASS AIR FLOW MOUNT RIGHT IN THE TANK ITSELF, AND THE REASON THAT IT'S HERE IS BECAUSE IT WILL
RECEIVE A SMOOTHER AIR FLOW SIGNAL THAN IF IT WAS MOUNTED IN THE AIR INTAKE TUBE. WITH THE MOUNTING BRACKETS ATTACHED, WE CAN POSITION THE INTERCOOLER BETWEEN THE BUMPER AND THE CONDENSER. THE BRACKETS SLIDE OVER THE BUMPER BOLTS, AND ARE SECURED WITH SUPPLIED HARDWARE. WITH THE INTERCOOLER ADJUSTED AS HIGH AND AS FAR FORWARD AS POSSIBLE, TIGHTEN THEM DOWN. NOW INSTALL THE FACTORY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. IT ONLY GOES IN ONE WAY DUE TO ITS OFFSET HOLES. AN INCLUDED EXTENSION HARNESS MAKES THE CONNECTION BACK TO THE MAIN HARNESS.
(MIKE)>> THIS INTERCOOLER IS SUPER EFFICIENT, AND THE REASON INLET AIR TEMPS ONLY SEE ABOUT AN EIGHT TO 10 DEGREE RISE OVER AMBIENT, AND THAT'S WITH

THIS CAR IS SO NEW THAT IT EVEN HAS THE EMBLEM PROTECTORS ON STILL, BUT NOT NOW. BY PULLING STRAIGHT UP, THE ENGINE COVER CAN BE REMOVED. UNHOOKING THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, DISCONNECTING SEVERAL HOSES, AND REMOVING A BOLT WILL ALLOW THE AIR BOX AND INLET TUBE ASSEMBLY TO COME OUT. NOW THE SOUND TUBE IS REMOVED. FOR DID THIS TO GIVE YOU MORE OF THE VEIGHT SOUND INSIDE THE CABIN. A SUPPLIED GROMMET FROM PRO CHARGER IS INSTALLED TO BLOCK THE HOLE. THE FRONT OF THE CAR CAN BE RAISED AND PLACED ON JACK STANDS AT THIS POINT. THIS ALLOWS US TO REMOVE ALL OF THE HARDWARE SO THE FRONT FASCIA CAN BE REMOVED. NOW THE BUMPER BRACES COME OFF ALONG WITH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE RADIATOR SHROUDS. WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK.

THIS STAGE TWO PRO CHARGER SYSTEM IS GOING TO INCREASE THE POWER IN OUR MUSTANG GT BY 250 TO 300 HORSEPOWER. NOW THAT REQUIRES MORE FUEL DELIVERY TO THE ENGINE. SO THEY SUPPLY THESE 1,000cc OR 95 POUND AN HOUR INJECTORS TO GET THE JOB DONE. NOW IN ORDER TO SWAP THEM OUT THE FUEL RAIL HAS TO BE REMOVED. THE BRACKETS AND FOAM INSULATORS OVER THE FUEL RAILS ARE PULLED OUT THE WAY. SO ARE THE COOLANT LINES THAT RUN OVER THE TOP OF THE RAILS. WITH A SCOTT SHOP TOWEL UNDER THE SUPPLY LINE,
WE CAN DISCONNECT IT AND LET THE TOWEL SOAK UP ANY
FUEL THAT COMES OUT. NOW DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FROM THE INJECTORS AND REMOVED THE FOUR BOLTS SECURING THE RAIL. NOW LIFT THE RAIL WITH THE INJECTORS OFF THE ENGINE. SWAPPING THE INJECTORS IS EASY. JUST MAKE SURE THE ORINGS ARE LUBED AND THEY WILL GO RIGHT IN. WITH THE SUPPLIED FUEL RAIL SPACERS IN PLACE, THE RAIL GOES BACK IN WITH NEW HARDWARE, AND ALL THE FACTORY PIECES ARE REATTACHED. WITH THE COOLANT DRAINED WE CAN REMOVE THE HOSE TO THE FACTORY THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND THE ACTUAL HOUSING. THIS NEW PRO CHARGER PIECE GOES ON USING THE FACTORY HARDWARE, AND THE ORIGINAL HOSE REATTACHES. THIS MOVES THE HOSE AWAY FROM THE ENGINE FOR SUPERCHARGER BELT CLEARANCE.
THE COOLANT RESERVOIR CAN BE REMOVED. IT IS NOT REUSED. NOW WE CAN REMOVE THE BALANCER BOLT.

SHAFT PULLEY SETUP.
IT HAS CAM LOCKS ON THE BACK THAT ARE A PATENTED DESIGN THAT STRADDLE THE STOCK BALANCER STRUTS. THEY ROTATE TO LOCK THEMSELVES INTO POSITION TO AVOID ANY ROTATION BETWEEN THE CRANK SHAFT AND THE PULLEY ITSELF ONCE IT'S INSTALLED. THE PULLEY GOES INTO PLACE AND THE SUPPLIED BALANCER BOLT IS FINGER TIGHTENED. NOW ROTATE THE PULLEY COUNTER CLOCKWISE UNTIL THE CAM LOCKS STOP IT FROM ROTATING. WITH THE BALANCER BOLT LIGHTLY SNUG, TIGHTEN THE SIX CAM LOCK BOLTS. FINALLY THE BALANCER BOLT IS TORQUED TO 75 POUND FEET.
(MIKE)>> NOW THE BRACKET AND HEAD UNIT PORTION OF THE ASSEMBLY HAPPENS. ONE THING TO POINT OUT IS PRO CHARGER'S DETAILED
INSTRUCTION MANUAL. THE PHOTOS ARE IN COLOR AND THE STEPS ARE DETAILED, EVEN DOWN TO WHAT TOOL IS REQUIRE FOR EACH STEP. THE FIRST ONE FOR THIS SECTION IS TO REMOVE TWO TIMING COVER BOLTS AND THE UPPER ALTERNATOR NUT. THE SUPPLIED SUBBRACKET IS BOLTED TO THE TIMING COVER USING NEW HARDWARE. NOW REMOVE THE UPPER MOST TIMING COVER BOLT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, ALONG WITH THE UPPER MOST THERMOSTAT HOUSING BOLT. UNPLUG THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTAKE CAM SENSOR AND REROUTE THE HARNESS AWAY FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE. NOW REMOVE THE RADIATOR BRACKETS, INSTALL THE SUPPLIED ISOLATORS, AND INSTALL THE NEW SUPPLIED RADIATOR BRACKETS FROM THE KIT. THEY MOVE THE RADIATOR FORWARD FOR SUPERCHARGER CLEARANCE. A HEX STAND OFF IS PLACED ON THE ALTERNATOR STUD, AND THE SUPERCHARGER BRACKET ASSEMBLY IS PUT IN PLACE. IT IS POSITIONED IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE CYLINDER HEAD AND ATTACHES WITH FOUR FASTENERS FOR A RIGID, ROCK SOLID MOUNT. THAT'S A SIGN WE'RE CLOSE TO MOUNTING THIS BRAND NEW PONEX HEAD UNIT, BUT FIRST WE'VE GOT TO TAKE A BREAK.

THE BRACKETS SLIDE OVER THE BUMPER BOLTS, AND ARE SECURED WITH SUPPLIED HARDWARE. WITH THE INTERCOOLER ADJUSTED AS HIGH AND AS FAR FORWARD AS POSSIBLE, TIGHTEN THEM DOWN. NOW INSTALL THE FACTORY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. IT ONLY GOES IN ONE WAY DUE TO ITS OFFSET HOLES. AN INCLUDED EXTENSION HARNESS MAKES THE CONNECTION BACK TO THE MAIN HARNESS.
