Boy Leads Police On Car Chase With Family Car
A 10-year-old boy led Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a chase reaching 100 mph. The kicker is, this wasn’t his first time. According to local police, the boy took the vehicle from their home around 9 am, his father reported the vehicle missing, and around 9:15 a driver called to report that the car was being chased by another red vehicle, potentially the boy’s mother.
Three officers tried to stop the boy as he drove reaching speeds of 96 mph at some points. The Ohio State Highway Patrol took over the chase once the boy entered the Ohio Turnpike and troopers attempted to stop the vehicle by boxing it in and putting stop sticks out. However, the boy avoided them by driving through a ditch. Sounds like this kid knew what he was doing.
The boy attempted to re-enter the road but the car got stuck in a ditch which caused the chase to end. But wait, there’s more. As the boy was taken into custody, he attempted to spit in several troopers’ faces and managed to kick one in the chin, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Turns out this is the second time the boy took his mother’s car for a joy ride. It actually happened earlier this month on October 16, when the boy’s mother said her Dodge Charger was stolen from the driveway and the boy was found driving with three flat tires in the high-speed lane on the interstate.
So what’s the reason this kid is on the road so often? The boy said he was bored, according to the police report. Not what your average 10-year-old does in their free time. Hopefully they get this kid under control before he hurts himself or someone else.
