PowerNation Week #13 - Amazing Hudson!

This week on PowerNation Courtney has a drop dead, gorgeous 1947 Hudson pickup. Owner Jason McPike turned to Randy Borcherding and his crew at Painthouse for a two and a half year resto of the Hudson. Randy joins Courtney to explain how they stripped it down to the chassis and battled many sheet metal challenges.

The lack of existing parts was difficult too, but Randy's goal was to keep it a Hudson. The eight foot stepside was shortened one foot and the bed is done in Zebra wood. They custom built the tailgate out of aluminum and brass trim which adorns the truck front to back, including the fenders. It's powered by a smallblock Chevy 383.

The Hudson heritage continues in the interior as well with a custom steering wheel by Greening Auto and a gauge cluster that's vintage art deco based on the original by Classic Instruments. The leather and suede interior by Paul Atkins has a deep, rich look. And the unusual color combination of custom PPG colors created by Randy called "Green Acres Pearl" and "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" have a story you have to watch to believe. Check it out on PowerNation this week. For more on Randy visit PainthouseTX.com and to see the full gallery of Jason's Hudson, CLICK HERE!
