(ANNOUNCER)>> TODAY HORSEPOWER'S GOT A LITTLE IMPORT CAR SLATED FOR BIG AMERICAN POWER. A SPORTY SECOND GENERATION RX SEVEN ON ITS WAY TO BECOMING A FIRST RATE BEAST ON THE ROAD COURSE.

(JOE)>> YOU'VE SEEN A LOT OF NEW AND OLD MUSCLE CARS MAKE THIS TRIP DOWN TO THE HORSEPOWER SHOP, AND TODAY THIS? YEP, OUR NEWEST PROJECT CAR, A 1987 MAZDA RX SEVEN. OKAY, BRINGING AN IMPORT IN FOR A HORSEPOWER PROJECT MAY BE A LITTLE STRANGE FOR ALL OF US, BUT WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE WHAT WE'VE GOT IN STORE TODAY. IN FACT WE'VE GOT A TRANSFORMATION THAT'LL GIVE THAT LITTLE IMPORT SPORTS CAR SOME BIG AMERICAN HORSEPOWER AND EVERYTHING IT NEEDS FOR CRUISING AND CARVING CORNERS AT THE TRACK. FOR POWER WE'RE DROPPING IN AN LS ONE ENGINE BACKED BY A NEW SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION USING A SPECIAL BOLT IN KIT FOR INSTALLATION. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, WE CAME UP WITH ALL WE NEED TO MAKE THAT MAZDA A TERROR ON THE TRACK AND STREET, INCLUDING PERFORMANCE

SUSPENSION PIECES, COOLING SYSTEM, A SIX POINT ROLL CAGE, RACING SEATS, AND WELL EVERYTHING BACK TO THIS FUEL CELL.

(MIKE)>> TO GIVE A LITTLE HISTORY ON THE RX SEVEN, JUST OVER 800,000 WERE SOLD FROM 1978 THROUGH 2002. EACH OF THE THREE GENERATIONS HAD SEVERAL SERIES.

(JOE)>> I CAN PUT THIS THING IN MY POCKET.

(MIKE)>> OUR SECOND GENERATION RX SEVEN IS CALLED THE FC SERIES. IT'S A TURBO TWO MODEL, WHICH CAME WITH A SMALL AIR TO AIR INTERCOOLER.

THE MORE WE REMOVE UNDER HERE, THE MORE OBVIOUS IT IS THIS ENGINE BAY'S GOT PLENTY OF ROOM FOR A VEIGHT. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW HARD TO GET TO BOLTS, FREEING UP THE MAZDA'S MOTOR IS A PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD JOB.

(JOE)>> LIKE ALL RX SEVENS, OURS CAME WITH A WENKEL ROTORY ENGINE. IT MADE 182 HORSEPOWER FROM THE FACTORY. NOW COMPARE THAT WITH THE LS ONE'S 345 HORSES IN STOCK FORM. PUTS A NEW SPIN ON THE TERM POCKET ROCKET.

(MIKE)>> CHECK OUT ALL THIS ROOM WE HAVE IN THIS ENGINE BAY. NOW I CAN'T GET OVER THE AMOUNT OF LENGTH WE HAVE FROM THIS FRONT CROSS BAR TO THE FIREWALL. NOT TO MENTION THE WIDTH WE HAVE IN BETWEEN

THE STRUT TOWERS. I BET A MODULAR ENGINE WOULD FIT IN THIS THING. NOW WE'RE GONNA GO AHEAD AND RETAIN THE FACTORY CROSS MEMBER AND THE STEERING RACK. WE WON'T HAVE TO DO ANY CUTTING ON THE FIREWALL OR THE TRANS TUNNEL. SO DROPPING THE LS ONE IN THIS THING SHOULD

BE STRAIGHT FORWARD. NOW THAT'S ALL THANKS TO GRANNY'S SPEED SHOP WHO

SUPPLIED THIS KIT THAT INCLUDES THE ENGINE CRADLE, RADIATOR MOUNTS, TRANSMISSION CROSS MEMBER, AND ENGINE MOUNTS. NOW THEY SUPPLIED MORE FOR THE BUILD THAT WE'LL SHOW YOU IN A LITTLE BIT, BUT RIGHT NOW IT'S TIME FOR JOHN TO DO SOME PRESSURE WASHING. WE'RE NOT PICKING ON JOHN, BUT EARLIER WE HAD A BOGUS DRAWING TO SEE WHO WOULD DO THE WASHING.

(JOE)>> I'M BLANK.

WHAT ABOUT YOURS?

(MIKE)>> I'M BLANK.

(JOHN)>> AH!

(MIKE)>> THAT WAS EASY. IT'S COLD OUTSIDE TODAY, REAL COLD!

(JOHN)>> [singing] WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND!

(MIKE)>> HE TOOK THE LOSS WELL.

(JOHN)>> [singing] IN LAND SOMETHING, SOMETHING!

(MIKE)>> WELL MAYBE NOT. REGARDLESS, HE GOT IT CLEAN. THESE TWO ALUMINUM SPUDS WILL BE PLACED IN THE TWO LARGE HOLES BEHIND THE RACK. THEY WILL SPREAD THE STRESS EVENLY BETWEEN THE TWO HALVES OF THE HOLLOW CROSS MEMBER TO PREVENT COLLAPSING. THE CRADLE GOES INTO PLACE NEXT. IT'S DIMPLE PUNCHED, WHICH ADDS STRENGTH, AND IS SECURED TO EXISTING HOLES IN THE CROSS MEMBER. IT WILL BE SECURED WITH HARDWARE FROM THE KIT, AND WE CAN GO AHEAD AND TORQUE PER THE INSTRUCTIONS. BEFORE WE DROP THE LS ONE IN, WE'VE GOT A ROCKER ARM UPGRADE FROM COMP CAMS THAT REPLACES THE STOCK TRUNIONS WITH CAPTURED ROLLER TRUNIONS SUITED FOR HIGH RPM RACING. FIRST, USING OUR PRESS AND A SEVENEIGHTHS SOCKET FOR A DYE, WE HAVE TO REMOVE EACH STOCK TRUNION FROM THE ROCKER. TO INSTALL THE NEW TRUNION WE USE A WASHER AND PRESS IN THE FIRST BEARING FROM THE KIT UNTIL IT'S FLUSH WITH THE ROCKER BODY. THEN DROP IN THE NEW TRUNION. AND FINALLY PRESS A SECOND BEARING AROUND IT ON THE OTHER SIDE. INSTALL SNAP RINGS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROCKER. NOW THE COMP KIT EVEN INCLUDES NEW BOLTS, WHICH WE

TORQUED TO 22 FOOT POUNDS.

(JOE)>> WHILE THE LS IS STILL ON THE GROUND WE'RE ALSO GONNA GIVE IT A NEW CLUTCH KIT FROM AMERICAN POWERTRAIN. IT'S THE ONE THEIR CALL THEIR SCIENCE FRICTION SUPER STREET STAGE ONE. NOW THE PRESSURE PLATE'S DESIGNED FOR MEDIUM EFFORT AND

GOOD PARALLEL ENGAGEMENT. THE DISC IS IMPREGNATED WITH KEVLAR, AND THAT MEANS IT'S

GONNA LAST LONGER AND PROVIDE MORE HOLDING POWER THAN STOCK. THE FLYWHEEL THEY SENT US HAS A SOLID BILLET ALUMINUM BODY, RIVETED CONSTRUCTION, AND LOW CARBON STEEL FRICTION SURFACE. NEXT COMES THE CLUTCH, FOLLOWED BY A PRESSURE

TESTED HYDROMAX BEARING. FINALLY WE CAN MATE THE LS ONE TO THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS A

SIX SPEED TREMEC MAGNUM WITH A CLOSE GEAR RATIO, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL FOR ROAD RACE DUTY.

(MIKE)>> THE MAGNUM TRANS IS THREE INCHES SHORTER THAN A T-56. SO TO GET THE SHIFTER IN THE RIGHT LOCATION, THIS AMERICAN POWERTRAIN SHORT THROW WILL BE INSTALLED WITH AN ADAPTER TO GIVE US THAT THREE INCHES BACK.

MAN THAT THING'S SHORT.

(JOE)>> GRANNY ALSO SUPPLIED US WITH THESE SOLID ENGINE MOUNTS THAT'LL MATE UP THEIR CRADLE WE INSTALLED EARLIER. AND WITH THAT OUR ENGINE AND TRANS ARE READY TO MAKE THE PLUNGE INTO A SOON TO BE LS RX SEVEN.

(JOE)>> WE'RE BACK TO DROP THIS LS ONE AND TREMEC MAGNUM SIX SPEED INTO OUR RX SEVEN PROJECT CAR.

(MIKE)>> WE'VE DONE ALL THE PREP WE CAN DO. TIME FOR THE MOMENT OF TRUTH. YOU MAY HAVE TO DROP THE SWAY BAR DOWN A LITTLE BIT.

(JOHN)>> DON'T FORGET I'M UNDER HERE.

(MIKE)>> HORSEPOWER ADDICTS HAVE BEEN DOING THIS SWAP FOR A LONG TIME NOW.

(JOHN)>> OKAY, I'M UNDER THE MOTOR MOUNT.

(MIKE)>> AND THE VAST MAJORITY OF THEM BOAST OF HOW WELL IT FITS.

WELL WE'RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT FOR OURSELVES. MAN THIS THING IS SITTING IN HERE TOO NICE. PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT, LOOK AT ALL THAT ROOM, THAT'S NUTS! THERE'S AN LS IN THAT THING, LOOK AT THAT. YOU COULD PROBABLY FIT A ROTORY IN FRONT OF IT. THAT'S A LOT OF ENGINE, AND IT WOULD SEEM THAT THE WEIGHT DIFFERENCE FROM THE STOCK MOTOR TO THIS LS WOULD DESTROY THE HANDLING OF THE RX SEVEN BUT THAT'S NOT THE CASE. SINCE THE LS' BLOCK AND HEADS ARE MADE OF ALUMINUM, THE SIX SPEED MANUAL IS RESTING IN THE CENTER OF THE CHASSIS, THEY SAY IT BALANCES OUT VERY EQUAL FROM CORNER TO CORNER. WE'LL LET YOU KNOW. NEXT WE NEED TO GET THE TRANSMISSION SUPPORTED. FIRST BY INSTALLING THIS ISOX TRANSMISSION MOUNT FROM AMERICAN POWERTRAIN. NOW THIS THING IS MADE FROM BALLISTIC ARMOR MATERIAL AND CAN HANDLE 1,500 FOOT POUNDS OF TWIST. BOTTOM LINE, IT ISOLATES LIKE RUBBER, LAST LIKE POLY, AND IT'S AS STRONG AS A SOLID MOUNT. THEN WE CAN BOLT UP OUR TRANS CROSS MEMBER FROM GRANNY'S. ON EACH END OF IT I'M DRILLING TWO BOLT HOLES INTO THE FLOOR BOARD. THEN ON THE TOP I'M USING A PLATE TO SANDWICH THE FLOOR BOARD AND SECURING IT WITH TWO BOLTS. WITH THE CAR BACK DOWN, LETS MOVE ON TO THE CAST IRON EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WE'RE USING FROM HOOKER. WE CHOSE THEM BECAUSE THEY HUG CLOSE TO THE ENGINE, MAKING THEM IDEAL FOR A VARIETY OF SWAP APPLICATIONS. THEY USE STAINLESS STEEL MATING FLANGES FOR LEAK PROOF SEAL.

(JOE)>> WHILE THIS PILE HAS BEEN GROWING, THIS ONE, THE NEW STUFF, HAS BEEN DWINDLING. MEANWHILE INSIDE THE CAR WE NEED TO PULL AWAY SOME OF THE CARPET TO MAKE WAY FOR THIS, A SIX POINT BOLT IN CAGE FROM KIRK RACING. UNLIKE THEIR COMPETITION, KIRK PREDRILLS THE BOLT HOLES FOR BETTER FITMENT AND RIGIDITY, NOT TO MENTION

SAVING DRILL BITS. IT'S ALSO PREPAINTED WITH EACH JOINT NUMBERED FOR FOOL PROOF INSTALLATION. WHILE THE KIT'S A BOLT IN, THERE IS A LITTLE TRIMMING NECESSARY ON THE DASH TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE FRONT BARS THAT HAVE TO PASS THROUGH IT.

(MIKE)>> OUR CONTACT OVER AT KIRK RACING SAID THE CAGE WAS GONNA BE A REALLY TIGHT FIT SINCE WE STILL HAD ALL THE INTERIOR IN THE CAR, AND MAN HE WAS RIGHT. NOW ONE THING HE DIDN'T SEND UP WITH THE CAGE WAS

A LITTLE BIT OF PATIENCE.

THAT'S WHY THE WINDSHIELD'S CRACKED. I'M USING A MATCO 90 DEGREE SILVER EAGLE TOOL TO DRILL THREE HOLES AT EACH MOUNTING POINT. NOW THE THREE BOLTS ARE SECURED TO A PLATE ON THE UNDER SIDE FOR INCREASED RIGIDITY. NOW WE JUST REPAT THE PROCESS AT THE FIVE OTHER MOUNTING POINTS.

(JOHN)>> WHACKAMO, WHACKAMO!

(MIKE)>> IS IT SUCKING IT DOWN?

(JOHN)>> YES SIR!

(MIKE)>> WITH THE FACTORY RADIATOR REMOVED, WE INSTALLED THE NEW GRANNY'S BRACKETS TO HOLD THEIR ALUMINUM RADIATOR,

WHICH IS A DROP IN FOR OUR LS ONE SWAP. A FACTORY WATER PUMP WILL KEEP THE COOLANT FLOWING AND A

STOCK BALANCER WILL DRIVE THE BELTS A SPINNING. HOLLEY SENT US THIS NEW ALTERANTOR BRACKET, WHICH ELIMINATES THE ACCESSORY HEADACHES YOU MAY RUN INTO WITH THE LS SWAPS. OUR FACTORY VALVE COVERS WILL COVER THE ROCKERS, AND ANOTHER BRACKET BOLTS TO THE PASSENGER SIDE CYLINDER HEAD, WHICH ALLOWS THE TENSIONER AND IF EQUIPPED, A/C BRACKET TO BOLT ON. AND A NEW ONE INCH BORE MASTER CYLINDER FROM GRANNY'S WILL GIVE THE NEW RELEASE BEARING PLENTY OF PRESSURE. TO KEEP THINGS SIMPLE, THE ORIGINAL INTAKE MANIFOLD WILL TAKE CARE OF OUR INDUCTION.

(JOE)>> WE JUST LOADED UP OUR SECOND GENERATION MAZDA RX SEVEN WITH A GM LS ONE ENGINE. WE THINK THIS CAR'S A PERFECT MATCH OF AMERICAN POWER AND LIGHT WEIGHT IMPORT SPORTS CAR. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE IT A BEAST ON THE STREET AND A RAGE AT THE ROAD COURSE.

SO MUCH FOR OUR WORK ON TOP, NOW TIME TO BEEF UP THE UNDERSIDE OF THIS POCKET ROCKET.

(JOHN)>> ALRIGHT, BRING HER ON DOWN.

(MIKE)>> THE FIRST OLD PART TO LEAVE IS THE FUEL TANK. NOW WE'RE USING THIS CELL FROM SUMMIT RACING. IT'S GOT DASH EIGHT FITTINGS THAT WILL ALLOW US TO RUN FEED AND RETURN LINES.

NOW IT HAS A CHECK BALL IN THE OVERFLOW TO PREVENT SPILLS IN CASE OF A ROLL OVER, AND EVEN COMES WITH A LEVEL SENDER. WE TOOK SOME CAREFUL MEASUREMENTS OF THE FACTORY TANK AND MATCHED THIS CELL AS CLOSE AS WE COULD. NOW IT FITS RIGHT UP IN THE HOLE AND EVEN GETS SECURED WITH THE FACTORY STRAPS. NOW ONE THING THAT'S A LITTLE ODD IS IT FILLS FROM THE VERY TOP, BUT WE'VE ALREADY GOT THAT FIGURED OUT.

NOW ONCE IN PLACE, SIMPLY TRACE THE OUTLINE AND TRANSFER THE MEASUREMENTS ONTO THE TRUNK PAN. TWO MORE HOLES FOR THE FUEL LINES AND MOUNT THE TANK FOR GOOD. WE TRIED TO FIND A PREMADE EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR THE RX SEVEN BUT THERE'S JUST NOT ONE THAT EXISTS. THAT'S BECAUSE LS ONES DIDN'T COME IN RX SEVENS. SO WE TOOK THE NEXT EASIEST ROUTE. WE GOT ONE OF MAGNAFLOW'S UNIVERSAL HOT ROD KITS THAT COMES WITH 90'S, 45'S, UBENDS, BALL FLANGES, AND HANGERS. PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO BUILD YOUR OWN. AND WITH A LITTLE BIT OF TIG WELDING, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE DID. SINCE THE CAR'S GONNA SIT LOW, I'M RUNNING A DUAL INTO A SINGLE EXHAUST. THIS DESIGN WILL ALLOW MORE CLEARANCE UNDERNEATH AND THERE IS ALSO LESS WEIGHT.

A LITTLE MORE WORK FOR THE MUFFLERS. ISN'T THIS KICKED OUT TOO MUCH? WOULDN'T IT BE OUTSIDE OF THE WHEEL WELL, YOU GET INTO TIRE CLEARANCE? IF YOU PLAN ON DOING THIS YOURSELF, MAKE SURE YOU TACK EVERYTHING TOGETHER AS YOU BUILD IT ON THE CAR. MARKING IT AND REMOVING IT JUST RESULTS IN MISALIGNMENT AND FRUSTRATION. OUR MAGNAFLOW MUFFLER IS AN ALL STAINLESS STRAIGHT THROUGH DESIGN. IT'S NONDIRECTIONAL AND WILL GIVE US A CRISP, THROATY SOUND WITHOUT ANY DRONE. NOW WE HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM TO MOUNT IT OUT BACK AND TUCK IT UNDER THE REAR FASCIA. A DRIVESHAFT CAME IN THE GRANNY'S KIT AS WELL, AND IT'S A PERFECT FIT. WE'RE ATTACHING IT TO THE STOCK REAR END, WHICH CAN HANDLE 500 HORSEPOWER. OVERKILL FOR THE ROTORY, BUT PERFECT FOR THE LS. TIME TO TEAR OUT THE OLD SUSPENSION UP FRONT TO MAKE ROOM FOR THESE.

(JOE)>> WE'RE GONNA UPGRADE THE SUSPENSION ON THAT RX SEVEN WITH SOME SUPER SPORT COIL OVERS FROM STANCE PERFORMANCE. NOW YOU CAN FIND THEIR STUFF ON EVERYTHING FROM PERFORMANCE STREET CARS TO TOP TIER RACERS. IT'S A FULL MONOTUBE CONSTRUCTION WITH 15 WAY ADJUSTABLE VALVING. WHICH MEANS WITH A LOWER SETTING YOU DRIVE TO THE TRACK, THEN A FEW CLICKS TO THE RIGHT, THEN YOU'VE GOT A PERFORMANCE SET UP MADE FOR RACING. WHILE WE'RE AT IT, HERE'S A LOOK AT THEIR MORE SERIOUS PRO COMP VERSION. SAME MONOTUBE CONSTRUCTION AS THE SUPER SPORT BUT WITH MORE ADJUSTABILITY FOR REBOUND AND COMPRESSION, PLUS THIS EXTERNAL RESERVOIR THAT HELPS AID IN THE COOLING OF THE OIL INSIDE THE DAMPER.

(MIKE)>> OUR BRAKE UPGRADE CAME FROM EBC. THREE GD DIMPLED AND SLOTTED ROTORS WILL SLIDE ONTO THE HUBS, AND EBC PADS WILL GRAB THEM TIGHT.

(JOHN)>> COME ON UP.

(MIKE)>> BEFORE WE INSTALL THE REAR BRAKES, THERE'S SOME SUSPENSION UPGRADES WE NEED TO DO OUT BACK. NOW WHETHER IT'S PERFORMANCE ORIENTED OR SUSPENSION, RACING BEAT HAS GOT YOU COVERED WHEN IT COMES TO MAZDAS. NOW THEY SENT US EVERYTHING ON THE TABLE, WHICH INCLUDES A FRONT AND REAR SWAY BAR, ADJUSTABLE END LINKS, URETHANE BUSHINGS, TOW ELIMINATOR SET, A FRONT DIFF MOUNT, DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT STOP BUSHINGS, AND A CAMBER ADJUSTER. NOW BEYOND JUST GIVING US BETTER HANDLING, THIS STUFF IS ALSO GONNA GIVE US THE ADJUSTABILITY WE NEED WHETHER WE'RE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE STREET OR TAKING IT TO A TRACK EVENT. THE FIRST THING WE'RE GONNA DO IS REMOVE THE STOCK TOW BUSHINGS. THE OLD TOW BUSHINGS HAVE TO BE PRESSED OUT. THE NEW ONES GET PRESSEDE IN AND ARE PRETTY SIMPLE.

NOW WE CAN INSTALL THE NEW DIFFERENTIAL STOP WASHERS, COMPLETE THE REAR BRAKES, INSTALL THE BEEFED UP SWAY BARS, AND WE'RE READY TO FINISH OFF THE LS.

(JOE)>> OUR MAZDA'S NOW ONLY A SHELL OF ITS FORMER SELF, LITERALLY. NEW POWERFUL LS ENGINE, NEW CAGED IN INTERIOR, AND EVERYTHING ELSE FRONT TO BACK UPGRADED WITH AMERICAN

MADE PERFORMANCE PARTS. NOW TO HANDLE FUEL MANAGEMENT WE GO FROM THIS OLD TECHNOLOGY TO THIS. IT'S MSD'S ATOMIC LS EFI THAT REQUIRES NO LAPTOP COMPUTER FOR TUNING. AND YOU GET RID OF THE OLD STOCK COMPUTER BOX BECAUSE THE ECU IS INCORPORATED INTO THE FUEL RAILS, MAKING FOR WHAT THEY CALL A WIRELESS CONFIGURATION. PLUS FUEL RUNNING THROUGH THE RAILS IS GONNA KEEP THE ELECTRONICS COOL. NOW THIS IS VERY BIG. THIS STREAMLINED SYSTEM SUPPORTS UP TO 1,000 HORSEPOWER. FIRST WE NEED TO WELD IN A BUNG TO INSTALL THE SUPPLIED OTWO SENSOR.

THEN FIND A MOUNTING SPOT FOR THIS COMPACT POWER MODULE, WHICH SUPPLIES VOLTAGE TO THE SYSTEM.

(MIKE)>> FROM IT A CONNECTOR CONTAINER FOUR WIRES, A POSTIVE AND NEGATIVE FOR THE BATTERY, AND THE OTHER TWO TO CONTROL THE FUEL PUMP. TO COMPLIMENT THE EFI WE'RE USING A SET OF OPTIONAL MSD MULTISPARK COILS MOUNTED TO A PAIR OF THEIR ALUMINUM BRACKETS.

THEY INSTALL USING THE FACTORY COIL PACK BOLT HOLES ON THE VALVE COVERS. WE NEED TO REMOVE A STOCK MANIFOLD BOLT FOR EACH OF THE FOUR FUEL RAIL BRACKETS. THEN WE CAN CAREFULLY DROP ON THE FUEL RAILS FOR BOTH SIDES. NEXT WE'LL CONNECT THE COILS ON EACH BANK ALONG WITH THE INJECTORS. NOW WE CAN MAKE THE CONNECTIONS TO THE THROTTLE BODY AND

MAXIMIZE THE SPARK WITH ETHREES ALL THE WAY AROUND. MOVING ON TO THE FUEL SYSTEM, WE'LL CONNECT OUR FUEL LINES TO THE FOUR FITTINGS ON THE FUEL RAILS. THEY ALSO SUPPLY RED COVERS FOR THEM. NOW THE COIL COVERS ARE AN OPTIONAL ITEM. THEY COME IN RED OR YOU CAN GET THEM BARE AND HAVE AN ENDLESS OPTION OF DESIGNS TO PUT ON THEM. NOW THESE ARE SOME OF THE IDEAS FROM THE MSD TEAM. TO KEEP THE MOTOR PROTECTED, ROYAL PURPLE HPS 10 W30 PUMPED INTO THE CRANK CASE USING OUT GOODSON PRESSURIZED TANK. AND FOR FUEL, SOME 89 OCTANE. PLUG THE HAND HELD CONTROL MODULE INTO THE POWER MODULE.

ANSWER A FEW SIMPLE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE LS ENGINE, ITS CAM, COILS, INJECTORS, AND SO FORTH. ALRIGHT, GO AHEAD AND FIRE IT UP!

(JOHN)>> OKAY! [ engine firing up ]

(MIKE)>> GOT GOOD OIL PRESSURE, GOOD FUEL PRESSURE, IT'S GOING THROUGH A LEARN CYCLE. SO AIR/FUEL, THAT TARGET WILL GET BETTER AND BETTER AS IT LEARNS. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FAST THAT THING FIRED UP.

(JOHN)>> PRETTY NICE ONE!

(MIKE)>> WE JUST TURNED THIS LIGHT WEIGHT IMPORT INTO AN AMERICAN POWERED VEIGHT STREET TERROR THAT HAS ALL THE PERFORMANCE PARTS IT NEEDS TO ATTACK THE ROAD COURSE. NOW WE WANT TO SEE THIS THING OVER ON THE ROLLERS JUST AS MUCH AS YOU DO, BUT WE NEED TO DO A COMPLETE NUT

AND BOLT FROM FRONT TO BACK JUST TO MAKE SURE IT'S SAFE. NOW WE'LL SHOW YOU THAT PRETTY SOON ALONG WITH AN AWESOME PAYOFF AT A LOCAL ROAD COURSE. HOW'S EVERYTHING LOOK?

(JOHN)>> GOOD OVER HERE, NO LEAKS ANYWHERE.

(MIKE)>> GOOD DEAL, MAN THIS THING FITS GOOD.

(JOHN)>> IT SOUNDS GOOD, I LIKE THE LITTLE RUMBLE TO IT!
