(ANNOUNCER)>> ON THIS EDITION OF SEARCH AND RESTORE, A YOUNG GEAR HEAD DOESN'T LET HIS DISABILITY GET IN THE WAY OF RESTORING HIS RIDES. WE HEAD TO PACIFIC NORTHWEST TO SURPRISE THIS CHEVY HANDYMAN OWNER WHO IS MORE THAT HANDY CAPABLE. AND WE'LL MEET OUR VOLUNTEER BUILD TEAM CHARGED WITH HELPING MAKE A VIEWER'S DREAM COME TRUE.

(TIM)>> SO HERE WE ARE TOMMY, ABOUT AS FAR AS WE CAN GET FROM THE TECH CENTER. WE'RE IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON TODAY. WE'RE ON OUR WAY TO PICK UP CHAD TERHAR'S '55 CHEVY HANDYMAN WAGON. REALLY GOOD GUYS, PURE GEARHEAD, BMX'ER AS A YOUNG KID, THEN GOT INTO MOTOCROSS. HAD A LITTLE BAD TURN, HAD A LITTLE ACCIDENT, BUT HE'S STILL GOT THIS CAR. HE'S BEEN WORKING ON IT. IT'S NOT THAT HE CAN'T DO IT, IT'S JUST THAT WE'RE GONNA HELP HIM ALONG A LITTLE BIT QUICKER.

(CHAD)>> HELLO, I'M CHAD.

(TASHA)>> I'M TASHA!

(PAYTON)>> AND I'M PAYTON!

(TASHA)>> AND WE'RE THE TERHARS.

(PAYTON)>> AND WE'RE THE TERHARS.

(ANNOUNCER)>> THIS YOUNG FAMILY OF THREE MAKES THEIR HOME IN TACOMA, WASHINGTON. BOTH HAVE FULL TIME JOBS WHILE RAISING THEIR FIVE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.

(TASHA)>> WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO FOR DINNER TONIGHT?

(PAYTON)>> I DON'T KNOW.

(TASHA)>> YOU DON'T KNOW?

(CHAD)>> OUT!

(TASHA)>> OUT, OUT FOR DINNER.

(ANNOUNCER)>> TASHA'S A PROBATION OFFICER AND LOVING MOM. HE'S AN INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY MECHANIC AND SERIOUS GEARHEAD, HAS BEEN ALL HIS LIFE.

(CHAD)>> I'VE GOTTEN A LOT OF CARS. I'VE FIXED THEM UP, AND I'VE SOLD THEM, AND WE'VE PAID BILLS OFF, BUT I'VE ALWAYS KEPT A LITTLE BIT OF MONEY TO GET ANOTHER ONE.

(ANNOUNCER)>> HIS LATEST FIND HAPPENS TO BE HIS DREAM CAR. MORE ON HIS CHEVY LATER. CHAD RACED BMX, FOUR WHEELERS, THEN DIRT BIKES, AND AT 22 HAD A GREAT JOB AND A BEAUTIFUL GIRLFRIEND HE'D BEEN DATING JUST FIVE MONTHS WHEN TRAGEDY STRUCK.

(CHAD)>> MARCH 11, 2001, IT STARTED OUT AS AN ALL DAY RIDE BUT ENDED UP NOT TOO HOT. IT WAS REAL WET OUT AND PRETTY SOUPY, AND WE WERE GOING ALONG A SINGLE TRACK TRAIL. AND I THINK I CLIPPED THE REAR TIRE OF WHOEVER WAS IN FRONT OF ME CAUSE IT DOESN'T MATTER. AS SOON AS I DID THAT I WENT OFF THE TRAIL. THE BIKE GOT STOPPED BY A COUPLE OF TREES AND I WENT OVER THE BARS. AS SOON AS I DID THAT IT DISLOCATED MY LEFT SHOULDER AND I LANDED UPSIDE DOWN LANDING FLAT AGAINST A TREE. THAT'S WHEN IT BROKE A RIB AND BROKE FIVE VERTEBRAS IN MY BACK.

(TASHA)>> THEY KNEW AT THAT POINT THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE PARALYZED AND THAT HE WASN'T GOING TO WALK AGAIN.

(CHAD)>> I CAN REMEMBER WAKING UP IN THE ICU AND SHE WAS HOLDING MY HAND. I MEAN SHE WAS THE FIRST FACE I SAW, AND I DON'T KNOW, I DON'T KNOW WHY I SAID, BUT THE FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MY MOUTH WAS YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE WITH ME.

(TASHA)>> EVEN NOW I'M LIKE, WHY DID YOU SAY THAT? BUT THERE WAS NEVER, EVER ANY THOUGHT IN MY HEAD THAT I WASN'T GOING TO BE THERE.

(CHAD)>> WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO THINK. I MEAN, YOU KNOW, I'VE BEEN DATING THIS GIRL FOR FIVE MONTHS. YOU MIGHT AS WELL GO GET SOME DUDE THAT CAN WALK STILL, OR SOMETHING, YOU KNOW?

(TASHA)>> IT HURT ME, HIM SAYING THAT, BUT I UNDERSTAND WHY HE DID. AND A LOT OF PEOPLE, EVEN NOW, SAY TO ME, YOU'RE STRONG, I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT. BUT HE'S WONDERFUL!

(CHAD)>> SHE MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME. THAT... SHE'S THE REASON I'M WHERE I'M AT. AND NOW WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL. I NEVER IMAGINED I'D HAVE THE FAMILY THAT I HAVE RIGHT NOW. I'M SORRY!

(ANNOUNCER)>> CHAD LAUGHED WHEN HIS BUDDIES THOUGHT HE NEEDED A MINI VAN TO GET AROUND. INSTEAD HE BUILDS HIS OWN PICK UPS. A FEW HE SOLD THROUGH THE YEARS TO PAY BILLS, ALL LOWERED WITH HAND CONTROLS.

(CHAD)>> A LOT OF PEOPLE EVEN FORGET THE FACT THAT I'M IN A CHAIR OR WHATEVER. I GOT A TATTOO DOWN MY ARM THAT SAYS STRUGGLE, AND IT HAS A COUPLE OF CHAIN SPROCKETS FROM LIKE A DIRT BIKE OR A BMX BIKE. YOU KNOW PEOPLE ARE LIKE, OH YOU GOT A NEW TATTOO, LET ME SEE IT. I'D SHOW THEM AND STRUGGLE. WHAT'S THAT FOR? I WAS LIKE, IT JUST KINDA TELLS A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY LIFE, AND YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T SEE IT BUT IT SOMETIMES IS A BIG STRUGGLE. OH COME ON, REALLY! YEAH, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO CONVINCE THEM THAT IT'S NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS I GUESS.

(ANNOUNCER)>> BUT BACK TO THAT DREAM CAR. CHAD GREW UP IN A TRIFIVE. THIS '55 NOMAD HIS DAD STILL OWNS, AND HAS SINCE RESTORED. TURNING HIS INTO A DAILY DRIVER WILL BRING CHAD'S DREAM FULL CIRCLE. SOMETHING HE CAN SHARE WITH HIS GIRLS.

(CHAD)>> I TELL TASHA THIS, I TELL MY DAD THAT I THINK, I THINK I WAS SUPPOSED GROW UP IN THE '50'S OR '60'S CAUSE THAT'S HOW I, YOU KNOW, THAT'S THE STUFF I LIKE.

(TASHA)>> THAT WAS HIS ULTIMATE FAMILY MEMORY IS THAT CAR. AND FOR PAYTON TO HAVE THAT, IT MEANS THE WORLD TO HIM. AND WE DON'T HAVE A HUGE HOUSE AND WE DON'T HAVE FANCY JOBS, BUT WE HAVE HEART AND WE LOVE TO BE TOGETHER. AND THAT KINDA JUST COMPLETES THAT AND MAKES IT WHOLE. AND JUST BECAUSE IT'S SOMETHING THAT HE'S, YOU KNOW, SO LOVED AND ENJOYED.

(ANNOUNCER)>> COMING UP, THE BIG RIG ROLLS UP ON A SPEECHLESS OWNER.

(TIM)>> CHAD, HOW YOU DOING?

(ANNOUNCER)>> AND LATER, SPARKS FLY WHEN TIM AND OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM GET STARTED REBUILDING THIS CLASSIC.

(TIM)>> THIS IS A PRETTY AREA OUT HERE.

(TOMMY)>> SO FAR I DON'T SEE MUCH DIFFERENCE.

(ANNOUNCER)>> FROM OUR TECH CENTER 3,000 MILES CROSS COUNTRY, WE'RE OUTSIDE THE CITY OF SEATTLE WASHINGTON TO SURPRISE ONE VIEWER WITH A TOP TO BOTTOM MAKEOVER OF HIS '55 210 WAGON.

(TASHA)>> AND HE'S ALWAYS THE GUY WHO WILL FIX ANYTHING.

(ANNOUNCER)>> TASHA SENT IN THE APPLICATION FOR HER HUSBAND CHAD, WHO'S BEEN IN A WHEEL CHAIR FOR 11 YEARS AFTER A BIKE CRASH. BUT IT HASN'T SLOWED DOWN THIS HOT RODDER. IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF HE'S COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED THE CHEVY, BUILT A DOLLY SO HE COULD CUT OUT THE FLOOR PAN AND GUT THE INTERIOR.

(CHAD)>> WHAT I'VE DONE IS I'VE CUT ALL OF THE MAIN FLOOR OUT ALL THE WAY TO THE INNER ROCKERS. I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON, THANK YOU, LOVE YOUR SHOW.

(ANNOUNCER)>> CHAD HAS NO IDEA OUR BIG RIG IS PARKED JUST FIVE BLOCKS FROM HIS HOUSE. WHAT HE DOES KNOW IS THAT TOMMY FROM THE TECH CENTER IS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST SCOUTING POTENTIAL CANDIDATES AND THAT HE'S BRINGING A CAMERA MAN TO THE HOUSE TO TAKE SOME PICTURES.

(CHAD)>> MY DAD HAS A NOMAD AND IT'S THE SAME SEAT, SAME LATCHES.

(TOMMY)>> SOMETIMES THE CAR CONDITION DOESN'T EVEN MATTER WHENEVER IT'S A DREAM THAT A PERSON WANTS THAT PARTICULAR.

(CHAD)>> ARE YOU KIDDING ME! NO WAY!

(TASHA)>> OH MY GOD, WHAT!

(TIM)>> HEY CHAD, HOW YOU DOING?

(CHAD)>> I WAS OKAY UNTIL YOU PULLED UP. I THINK I'M GONNA PASS OUT NOW.

(TIM)>> WE'RE REALLY HERE TO GET YOUR CAR.

(TASHA)>> OH MY GOD!

(TIM)>> NICE TO MEET YOU. HI, TIM!

(TASHA)>> OH MY GOD, HI!

(TIM)>> HELLO!

(TOMMY)>> WATCH HER, WATCH HER!

(CHAD)>> HOLY MOLY!

(TIM)>> WHAT'S IT LOOK LIKE TOMMY.

(TOMMY)>> UM!

(TIM)>> WE NEED CHANGE, SORRY, SEE YA, JUST KIDDING!

(CHAD)>> I'LL JUST SAY ONE THING RIGHT OFF THE BAT. YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME. IT HASN'T HIT ME YET, THIS IS STILL KINDA SURREAL.

(TIM)>> WE TOOK A COUPLE OF MEASUREMENTS. WE'RE JUST GONNA WELD IN A COUPLE OF PROPS BRACES HERE.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE, LIKE CERTAIN COLORS YOU LIKE?

(CHAD)>> UM, RED AND WHITE. IT CAN NEVER BE TOO LOW, NEVER BE TOO LOUD.

(TIM)>> I THINK THE PLANS THAT WE'VE KINDA GOT ARE PROBABLY PRETTY GOOD.

(TOMMY)>> LETS GET ALL THIS STUFF AND WE'LL PUT THEM IN THERE. LET'S GO!

(ANNOUNCER)>> THE MEN HEAD BACK INTO CHAD'S GARAGE FOR A LOOK AT ONE ESSENTIAL COMPONENT NEEDED IN THE WAGON.

(CHAD)>> I HAVE A RESTRICTION ON MY DRIVER'S LICENSE. I HAVE TO HAVE HAND CONTROLS AND BOTH SIDE MIRRORS. THIS PIECE ACTUALLY SLIPS IN AND OUT OF THIS TUBE SO LIKE A NORMAL PERSON CAN DRIVE IT. AND FEEL FREE TO IMPROVISE ANY OF THIS STUFF. IT'S JUST KIND OF CLUNKY.

(TIM)>> THIS IS LIKE YOU HAVE IN YOUR TRUCK THAT YOU DRIVE EVERY DAY, CAUSE I KNOW THEY MAKE A WHOLE BUNCH OF TYPE OF HAND CONTROLS. SO IT'S WHAT YOU LIKE AND YOU'RE COMFORTABLE WITH.

(CHAD)>> THIS IS THE IDENTICAL SETUP I HAVE IN MY TRUCK.

(TIM)>> SO WE'RE GONNA TAKE THIS WITH?

(CHAD)>> YEAH. AND THEN WE'LL SEE, HAVE YOUR WAY WITH THEM, AND THEN WE CAN GO LOOK AT MY TRUCK SO YOU CAN SEE HOW THEY GO ON.

(TOMMY)>> YOU JUST TWIST IT AND DOWN IT GOES.

(CHAD)>> YEP, THERE'S MY DAD.

(JIM)>> THIS ISN'T TOO INTIMIDATING OR ANYTHING.

(CHAD)>> JIMBO, TIM AND TOMMY.

(JIM)>> OH MY GOSH, LOOK AT THIS.

(TIM)>> HOW ARE YOU DOING?

(JIM)>> JIM, NICE TO MEET YOU.

(TIM)>> NICE TO MEET YOU.

(TOMMY)>> SO WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THIS?

(JIM)>> HE DESERVES IT. BEEN DESERVING A REALLY NICE CAR FOR A LONG TIME.

(TIM)>> WELL WE'RE GONNA GET ON THE ROAD.

(CHAD)>> THANK YOU, SO MUCH.

(TIM)>> YEP, WE'LL TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT, WE'LL SEE YA.

(TASHA)>> THANK YOU!

(CHAD)>> THANK YOU GUYS, WE'LL SEE YOU IN A LITTLE WHILE.

(ANNOUNCER)>> NEXT, FROM BLAST TO BUST, TIM AND THE TEAM ARE SHOCKED AT WHAT THEY FIND UNDER A HALF CENTURY OF PAINT. ( )>> I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE ROUGH, BUT THERE'S A LOT OF WORK HERE. WE'VE GOT OUR HANDS FULL FOR THE WEEK.

(TIM)>> LIKE RIGHT HERE?

(TOMMY)>> YEP.

(TIM)>> RIGHT HERE, THAT BLUE THING IS DOWN THERE.

(TOMMY)>> YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YOU CAN GO HERE OR YOU CAN GO OVER THERE.

(TIM)>> YOU SUCK AT DIRECTIONS.

(TOMMY)>> WELL YOU CAN TURN. IT'S LIKE RIGHT THERE!

(ANNOUNCER)>> THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS WAS A TRIP TO STRIP MASTERS OF NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, TO FIND OUT WHAT IS ACTUALLY LURKING BENEATH DECADES OF PAINT, LEAD, AND RUST.

(TIM)>> NO FLOOR PAN IN IT, PIECES AND PARTS HERE.

(TOMMY)>> I'D SAY THIS CAR WAS RUSTY.

(JOAN)>> I LOVE THE '55 BECAUSE THAT'S ONE OF THE CARS THAT MY DAD HAD. WE TAKE OFF PAINT, SURFACE RUST, BASICALLY ABOUT ANYTHING THAT'S ON THERE THAT CAN BE BLASTED OFF, WE CAN REMOVE IT.

(TIM)>> THANKS A LOT JOAN FOR HELPING US OUT ON THIS.

(JOAN)>> THANK YOU, IT WAS A PLEASURE WORKING WITH YOU ALL.

(TIM)>> OKAY, GIVE US A HOLLER WHEN IT'S DONE, WE'LL COME BACK.

(JOAN)>> WE'LL DO IT!

(TIM)>> THANK YOU!

(JOAN)>> BYE, BYE!

(TIM)>> I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DOORS ARE LOCKED TO THE BUILDING CAUSE ONCE THEY SEE THIS CAR THEY'RE GONNA TRY TO ESCAPE. ( )>> OPEN THAT DOOR.

(ANNOUNCER)>> OUR FIRST WAVE OF VOLUNTEERS ARE ABOUT TO LAY THEIR EYES ON 57 YEAR OLD BARE METAL.

(TIM)>> THERE IT IS BOYS.

(PHILLIP)>> YEAH, WE'VE GOT ROCKERS GONE. WE'VE GOT SEAL PLATES GONE. WE'VE GOT FLOOR PANS OBVIOUSLY GONE, OUTSIDE QUARTERS GONE, INSIDE QUARTERS GONE, APILLARS GONE, NOT PRETTY, NOT PRETTY.

(ANNOUNCER)>> AND THAT IS WHY IT'S A GOOD THING THAT THESE GUYS HAVE VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME TO HELP TURN A DREAM INTO REALITY FOR ONE HOT RODDER.

(TOMMY)>> HE SAID WHENEVER HE WAS LOOKING AT THE CAR, HE'D BEEN LOOKING, AND LOOKING, AND LOOKING. AND THEN WHEN HE FOUND THIS ONE HE SAID, WHEN I SAW IT, IT WAS MY DREAM CAR. AND WHEN HE SAID THAT I SAID, WELL IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW ROUGH THIS CAR IS.

(TIM)>> TOOLS ON BOTH SIDES. ALL THE DRAWERS ARE LABELED, CUTTERS, SOCKETS, PLIERS, TIN SNIPS AND STUFF ARE OVER THERE, WRENCHES, SCREW DRIVERS, PICKS, CHISELS.

(PHILLIP)>> THERE'S ONE, UH, NOPE!

(ANNOUNCER)>> TIM KNEW THIS BUILD WAS GONNA NEED A LOT OF SHEET METAL. ROCK AUTO DOT COM DONATED HIGH QUALITY ROCKERS, FENDERS, QUARTER PANELS, FILLERS, AND A COMPLETE FLOOR PAN, ALL MADE BY SHERMAN AND ASSOCIATES.

(TROY)>> THIS IS A LITTLE REASSURING. AT LEAST WE'VE GOT SOMETHING GOOD TO LOOK AT.

(ANNOUNCER)>> MEANWHILE, MORE VOLUNTEERS ARRIVED BRINGING DONATED GOODS.

(TOMMY)>> APPRECIATE WHAT YOU'VE DONE.

(CHRIS)>> HEY, NO PROBLEM MAN.

(TIM)>> WHEN THE GUYS FROM STREET ROD GARAGE GOT HERE THIS MORNING, WHEN THEY ROLLED THAT CHASSIS OUT, IT'S ALMOST A SHAME TO PUT A BODY ON THAT THING.

(CHRIS)>> WE BROUGHT THE NEW TFIVE SRG CHASSIS. IT'S STRONG AND IT WORKS. IT'S GONNA MAKE THE CAR HANDLE BETTER, IT'S GONNA MAKE THE CAR DRIVE BETTER. IT'S DEFINITELY GONNA MAKE THE CAR LOOK BETTER IF YOU LOOK UNDERNEATH.

(ANNOUNCER)>> LOCATED IN GRANT, ALABAMA, THESE GUYS ARE NO STRANGERS TO TRIFIVE CHEVYS. IT'S ONE OF THEIR SPECIALTIES. ( )>> WE'RE GONNA SET THE CHASSIS HEIGHT.

(ANNOUNCER)>> AFTER A FRAME IS BORN ON THE CAD MACHINE, THEY'RE BUILT PIECE BY CUSTOM PIECE, AND GET THIS. INSTEAD OF MANDREL BENT SQUARE TUBING, THESE FRAMES ARE BUILT FROM PLATES ON ALL SIDES AND REINFORCED WITH EXTRA GUSSETS THAT ARE BUILT INTO THE INSIDE OF THE RAILS. PACE PERFORMANCE STEPPED UP TO FILL THAT CHASSIS WITH THIS, CHEVROLET PERFORMANCE'S NEW CONNECT AND CRUISE PACKAGE. YOU'RE LOOKING AT AN LS THREE ENGINE PAIRED WITH A FOURL-65-E FOUR SPEED AUTOMATIC, EACH ENGINEERED FOR BOTH PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY. SIX POINT TWO LITERS, 430 PONIES, AND 424 FOOT POUNDS OF TORQUE, PLENTY OF POWER FOR CHAD'S NEW RIDE.

(TIM)>> EVERYTHING COME IN ONE PACKAGE, MOTOR, TRANSMISSION, WIRING HARNESS, EVERYTHING! WE'RE GONNA DO SOME TRICK THINGS. WE'RE GONNA MOVE THE COILS, LOCATED THEM BEHIND THE MOTOR, SOME SMOOTH VALVE COVERS, EVEN TO SLICK IT UP THAT MUCH MORE.

(ANNOUNCER)>> LETTING THE CHEVY BREATHE IS THIS MAGNAFLOW UNIVERSAL HOT ROD KIT WITH A SET OF MAGNA PACK MUFFLERS, SOME HIGH FLOW CATS, AND YARDS OF TUBE THAT THE STREET ROD GARAGE GUYS WILL CUSTOMIZE FOR THIS CAR, AIR FLOW'S NOT GONNA BE A PROBLEM. ( )>> GOT IT TACKED IN PLACE, GOT IT LOOKING GOOD. BLEW IT BACK APART, WE'RE GONNA POLISH THE WELDS ON IT, PUT IT BACK ON, MAKE SURE NOTHING MOVED, AND THEN WE'LL PRETTY MUCH BE READY FOR TIM AND THEM TO PUT THE BODY ON.

(TIM)>> HERE WE ARE, DAY ONE, THREE QUARTERS OF THE METAL'S ALREADY DONE. IT AIN'T NO HILL FOR A CLIMBER.

(ANNOUNCER)>> OUR CLIMB IS LESS STEEP THANKS TO THE DOZENS OF MANUFACTURERS WHO STEPPED UP WITH DONATED PARTS, LIKE DANCHUK MANUFACTURING, WHO SPECIALIZES IN EVERYTHING TRIFIVE CHEVY.

(CHAD)>> THE DOOR SKINS ARE GOOD. I THINK THEY'RE SAVABLE.

(TIM)>> THIS WAS HIS GOOD SET OF DOORS THAT HE SAID IS THE GOOD SET. THESE ARE FIXABLE. THEY LOOK REALLY BAD, THEY ARE REALLY BAD. YOU CAN GET ALL THESE PIECES, YOU CAN GET THIS INNER PATCH, YOU CAN GET THIS, BUT FOR THE TIME FRAME WE GOT BRAND NEW DOORS. IT'S GONNA HELP A LOT.

(TOMMY)>> FROM WHAT I CAN SEE IT LOOKS PRETTY... OH, I WAS FIXING TO SAY A BAD WORD.

(TIM)>> I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AT THE BOTTOM WHEN YOU'RE LOOKING UP AT THE CHASSIS.

(ANNOUNCER)>> TO FINISH A HOT ROD TOP TO BOTTOM IN 20 DAYS FAST WORK IS KEY. SO SHOP SABRE BROUGHT IN A CNC PLASMA TABLE. (JOHN B.)>> WHAT'LL HAPPEN NOW IS HE'S GOT THE DRAWING, NOW HE'S CREATING A TOOL PATH. THE MACHINE WILL BE ABLE TO CUT IT. YOU CUT A FOUR FOOT WIDE PANEL WITH A BUNCH OF UNDULATIONS IN IT FOR FIREWALLS AND SO FORTH. ( )>> I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT. (JOHN B.)>> YOU KNOW, YOU'RE GONNA SPEND AN HOUR AND A HALF CUTTING IT. WE BRING IT OVER, THEY BRING US A PAPER TEMPLATE, WE'VE GOT THAT PART CUT IN ABOUT FOUR MINUTES. AND WHEN THEY TAKE IT UP TO THE CAR, IT'S SMOOTH, IT'S CLEAN, NO GRINDING. THEY'LL PUT THE PART INTO PLACE.

(TOMMY)>> IT SAVES A LOT, I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO NOTHING. LOOK IT, THAT'S A NICE PIECE.

(TIM)>> RICK FROM RICK'S TANKS CAME AND FITTED HIS GAS TANK RIGHT IN THERE.

(RICK)>> WE BROUGHT A 22 GALLON STAINLESS STEEL FUEL TANK FOR THE TRIFIVE CHASSIS. FULLY BAFFLED, TIG WELDED, HAND ASSEMBLED, GOT ALL CNC MACHINED FLANGES, FITTINGS. THAT'S OUR STANDARD IN TANK FUEL PUMP SETUP, WHICH IS GEARED FOR GENERAL DRIVING, LIGHT TO MODERATE AUTO CROSSING, GO DRAG RACING WITH IT. THAT AEROMOTIVE FUEL PUMP WILL SUPPLY EASILY TO 750 HORSEPOWER.

(TIM)>> I WAS JUST THINKING, MAN, I WANT TO KEEP THIS CAR FOR MYSELF. THIS IS NICE!

(ANNOUNCER)>> WORK CONTINUES ON THE REST OF THE CAR WITH VOLUNTEERS RON KNOWLES AND BILL STEVENS FOCUSING ON THE FRONT END. BUILD LEADER TIM STRANGE IS IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL MAKING SURE IT'S ALL DONE RIGHT.

(BILL)>> HE SET GOALS FOR US FOR THE FIRST FOUR DAYS AND WE'RE GONNA BASICALLY MEET EVERYTHING THAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO. WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET IT DONE.

(BILL)>> THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL AN AUTO BODY MESSAGE RIGHT THERE.

(ANNOUNCER)>> AND WITH THE FENDERS IN PLACE, YOU CAN START TO SEE THE MAKINGS OF ONE '55 CHEVROLET.

(TIM)>> THIS WEEK ON THE CAR WE GOT A LOT DONE. WE GOT IT ALL MOCKED UP IN METAL, MOST OF THE RUST REPAIR DONE, AND MOST OF THE PANELS HUNG. WE EVEN PUT APILLARS IN THIS WEEK AND A GAS TANK. WE HAD SO MUCH METAL WORK TO REPLACE ON THIS CAR, I THINK I MIGHT HAVE WORE OUT THE FIRST CREW. SO WE'VE GOT A FRESH CREW COMING IN TO HELP DO ALL THE BODY WORK. WE'RE GONNA START SLINGING MUD AT IT.
