4-door Vette For Sale
There’s a rumor going around that a 4-door Mustang might be in the works. But turns out, Chevy beat them to it with a 4-door Corvette. There were only 6 made and only 2 left in existence today, but they’re out there! And one is for sale through NBS Auto Showroom. It’s a 1980 factory original 4-door Corvette with only 20,000 original miles on it. It houses a 250 ci engine and is priced at $214,884…how do you feel about 4-door options of a Corvette or Pony Car? Let us know in the comments!
Irresponsible Cop Crash
The officer said it himself: Don’t try this at home. A Florida Highway Patrol officer spotted a vehicle going 20mph over the posted speed limit in the opposite direction and decided it was worth pulling them over. So he pulls a U-turn across the highway median and hits the gas. He gets up to about 140mph and is passing vehicles on the shoulder. After a bit, he tells his partner, “I don’t recommend doing what I just did”. But he finally caught up to the vehicle and gets out. But all of a sudden, the heat from those high speeds caught his car on fire and the dry grass under it went up in flames! Probably wasn’t worth it.
Yenko Power
We covered the announcement of the 2019 Yenko Camaro from Specialty Vehicle Engineering a few months ago. But now they have released the numbers for it and they’re impressive. The car will put out 1000 HP from the 6.9-liter supercharged LT-1 based engine. You will be able to buy them directly from a Chevrolet dealership but if you’re in California, you’re out of luck. They aren’t street legal due to emissions laws. Are you going to be lining up for one?
VW Tarok Concept
You don’t think of pickups when you hear Volkswagen, but the automaker has announced the Tarok Concept and shown off its transforming bed. It’s a concept for now but Volkswagen seems pretty confident it’ll be in production soon. It’s similar to the Chevy Avalanche style with a back panel that can extend the bed into the cabin for more hauling space. It houses a 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder under the hood. It will be released initially in Brazil but then would be offered worldwide. Would you buy one?
Chevy eCopo
Fifty years after the original COPO Camaro special order performance models were introduced, Chevrolet’s eCOPO Camaro Concept has released the concept for an electrified vision for drag racing at the 2018 SEMA show. Developed by General Motors and built in partnership with the pioneering electric drag racing team Hancock and Lane Racing, the concept race car — based on the 2019 COPO Camaro — is entirely electric powered, driven by an electric motor providing the equivalent of more than 700 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet estimates quarter-mile times in the 9-second range. Testing is ongoing. The all-new 800-volt battery pack enables a more efficient power transfer to the electric motor and supports faster recharging, which is important for the limited time between elimination rounds in drag racing.
