Ask any Ford dealer and they will tell you what a big seller the Ford Maverick has been to the point where you’d be lucky to see one that is openly available. This affordable and versatile mid-size truck serves as a blank canvas for customization that owners can transform in any sort of direction. The possibilities are endless, and a series of customized Mavericks were brought in for display for the 2021 SEMA show. But the one that stood out from the rest was a high-performance street truck by Tucci Hot Rods.
It seems that Ford took notice and a Ford Maverick ST, or at least some kind of street version of the truck, is in development.
The performance-focused 2023/24 Ford Maverick ST has been spied testing with wider wheel arches, an extra intercooler behind the front grille, as well as a dual exhaust system. In addition, the pickup truck could be powered by the Focus ST’s 276 hp 2.3-liter turbocharged engine. pic.twitter.com/dGzqusxn4m

Ford Maverick Marketing Manager Trevor Scott said of the rumored ST model, “such a thing is being monitored to see there’s an opportunity.”
Even though Ford has not confirmed the development of the Maverick ST, the truck was spotted on a test track with wider wheel arches, an extra intercooler, duel exhaust, and is rumored to be powered by the 2.3-liter turbocharged engine seen in the Ford Focus ST.
