A Miniature 1938 Grand Prix Racer Complete With A Real Working V16 Engine
This is pretty cool.
The whole thing goes into a 1:3 scale model of a 1936 Auto Union Type C, completely with a supercharged .216-liter V16. Of course, the original V16 was a six-liter monster. The original had horsepower somewhere around the 500 mark, though this one is probably putting out just a slightly lower amount. Maybe 499 horsepower. Either way that’s pretty darn close. And before you start crunching numbers, yes it is a 1:3 scale but some compromises had to be made for the sake of functionality therefor the displacement might be slightly off.
And this isn’t just a model to look at and admire. This thing runs and moves!
