A Sheriff’s Office Is Boycotting Ford
The politics of the NFL kneeling protest have hit the automotive market. After Ford’s support of NFL players kneeling in protest during the national anthem, a Louisiana sheriff has requested a boycott of the auto manufacturer’s police vehicles.
The Drive reported an open letter from Sheriff Julian Whittington to a local Ford dealership stating that their office will “no longer purchase Ford products as long as Ford sides with protesting players”. Last month Ford announced that it “respects individuals’ rights to express their views, even if they aren’t the ones we share”. Over the last 2 years, the sheriff’s office has bought 29 vehicles from Ford adding up to almost $750,000. So, what’s your view on the situation?
