An Illinois Police Dept. Takes Seized MK4 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, Adds It To Fleet

Another police department has taken advantage of a seized vehicle in its possession. This MK4 Volkswagen Jetta GLI once belonging to a drug dealer is now fighting crime.

The Metamora Police Department in Illinois came into the possession of the VW though what we assume was a drug bust. The Drive found a Facebook post (that has since been deleted) and it shows the Jetta all decked out in police badging.

The department decided that instead of sending the car to auction or crushing it, they’d keep it around for themselves. And they’ve put it to work! It’s reported the car is now transportation for the local school resource officer. They kept the car’s mods which makes this thing faster than your average Jetta.
