Aston Martin’s Valkyrie Has More Power And Less Weight
Aston Martin’s hypercar, the Valkyrie, is said to have over 1,200 horsepower from the electric drivetrain and 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 combination, according to AutoWeek. And on top of that the car will only weigh about 2,270 pounds, which is almost 60 pounds lighter than the Mazda Miata. They shred weight everywhere possible, down to thinning the Aston Martin badge on the nose. The trick then was getting the aerodynamics down to be able to keep a car with that much power and so little weight on the ground.
As of now, there’s only a street version but a track-only version with a more aggressive aero package and big wing will be in production soon. The running prototype of the Valkyrie will be debuted next year with customers being able to buy in 2019.
