Bicyclist Falls Into Opening Drawbridge Gap
One thing to never try: going around the barriers and arms that come down when a draw bridge is opening. They go down for a reason and that is, your safety. But this woman is either a dare devil or dumb and decided to try and cross the bridge anyways.
While the Wisconsin bridge was opening up to let boat traffic through on the Fourth of July, a bicyclist ignored the warning gates on the Racine Street bridge. The woman almost crashed before falling into the opening bridge gap.
After a short time people got out of their cars and rushed to help the woman out of the opening. The bridge operator was made aware of the incident and did not move the bridge span until everyone was off of the bridge, the Menasha Police Department said. The woman was taken to a local hospital and treated primarily for facial injuries, police said.
