Bills Are Being Introduced To Protect Drivers Who Run Over Protestors
We’ve seen our fair share of protests the last few years and most of them take place in city streets, which then causes issues for drivers. One that sticks out is the Dodge Ram driver who simply drove through the protestors in Durham, NC. He wasn’t prosecuted for his actions. And it turns out since then, bills are being proposed that protect drivers who run over protesters.
CNN reports that Florida, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Texas all have some sort of legislation that would make it legal to hit protestors if the driver didn’t do it willfully. Obviously, don’t go out and start running people over and check your local laws but it’s definitely interesting to see how this will unfold.
