Brand New Raptor Goes Swimming In A Pool…With Grandma Inside
CBS News 8 – San Diego, CA News Station – KFMB Channel 8
The Ford Raptor may be known as one of the most capable off-road trucks on the market. But it turns out the Raptor F-150 does, indeed, have one weakness: it doesn’t float. Who would’ve thought? An elderly woman from California found out the hard way when she was a passenger in a Raptor that took an unexpected dip in a residential swimming pool. She was actually trapped inside the sinking pickup.
But luckily for the grandmother, Gabriel Mejia was nearby and saw the pickup roll through the fence and into the pool. He rushed over and broke out the window and pulled the woman to safety. She was bleeding and bruised from the incident, but should be back on her feet soon. Before being taken to the hospital, she took the opportunity to talk to Gabriel and thank him, calling him her angel.
The home’s owner, Paul Faulstitch, said he was in disbelief when he saw what he came home to. Despite the significant damage to his pool and decking by the pickup, Faulstitich was just thankful nobody was seriously hurt in the incident and that his kids weren’t in the pool at the time.
The truck was dragged out by a wrecker about four hours after the incident and sadly, it left Faulstitch’s concrete and pool deck in rough shape. Luckily all ended well for all the people involved and everybody lived to tell one heck of a story.
