Dodging Traffic or Dodging the Truth? Chevy Collides with Light Pole in Bizarre Crash

We’ve all probably tried to talk ourselves out of a traffic ticket at one point or another but it’s a bit more difficult to do when a police dashcam captures everything on video. We aren’t sure this driver will be able to convince the officer that they swerved to “avoid oncoming traffic”.

In this police dashcam footage, a driver is seen slightly swerving into the turn lane to make a left hand turn.

As the vehicle makes its turn, it unexpectedly swerves hard to the right and crashes straight into a light pole in broad daylight.

According to the driver’s explanation, they swerved to avoid oncoming traffic, though the video doesn’t seem to back up that claim.

Whatever the real story is, it’s one of those clips that you just can’t help but watch. The Chevy has clearly seen better days!
