Dealership Lists 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 For $169,900, Almost $100,000 Markup
Ford’s 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January. As with all highly anticipated vehicles, dealers are eager to markup their inventory. This California dealership was no exception.
The Ford-established MSRP for the GT500 was $72,900 plus a destination fee. However, people are clearly willing to pay more.
The Thousand Oaks, California dealership is advertising a newly delivered GT500 with a sticker price of $169,900. That’s just a few grand shy of a whopping $100,000 markup. To top it off, this is a base model, no bells and whistles.
The dealership in California isn’t alone. A dealership in Virginia is also listing a GT500 for $145,890.
Should dealers be allowed to markup vehicles this high? Would you buy a vehicle for that much over sticker? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
