If there’s one thing we’ve learned from working on Project Nightshift—our 1993 Dodge Ram dually diesel build on Music City Trucks—it’s that Dodge knows how to make a workhorse that stands the test of time. Fast forward to the present, and the 2025 Ram is here, bringing a whole new level of performance and design to the heavy-duty world.

Modern Look, Rugged Performance

Visually, the 2025 Ram introduces a cleaner design with split headlights and an updated grille that comes in multiple configurations depending on the model. For example, the Ram 2500 and 3500 now feature thinner headlights integrated into a more streamlined grille, giving the heavy-duty trucks a fresh face without losing their tough, no-nonsense appeal. The Rebel variant, with its blacked-out grille and vertical strakes, delivers a distinctive, aggressive front end that stands out from the rest.

At the back, changes are subtle but noticeable. C-shaped LED taillights add a modern touch to an otherwise familiar look. Despite these updates, Ram has preserved the truck’s rugged image, making sure that even with a new style, it still carries the functionality expected from a heavy-duty vehicle.

Under the Hood: New Powertrains

A key highlight for 2025 is the departure of the Hemi V-8, replaced by a twin-turbo inline-six engine. Available in two configurations, buyers can choose between 420 and 540 horsepower depending on the model. While details on the heavy-duty lineup’s powertrain options are still under wraps, Ram has confirmed that the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine will carry over, continuing its reign as a favorite among heavy-duty truck enthusiasts.

Our project showcases the raw strength and character of earlier models, while the new lineup pushes the boundaries of modern truck engineering.

2025 Dodge Ram HD: A Glimpse Ahead

Though much of the technical details are yet to be revealed, it’s clear that the 2025 Ram lineup is staying competitive. The Ram HD trucks, including the 2500 and 3500, maintain their hallmark durability and capability. The upcoming updates show Ram’s focus on combining modern styling with tried-and-true power for those who rely on their trucks for both work and adventure.
