Even The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Gets Pulled Over
Even the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has to follow the rules of the road.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department pulled over the Wienermobile for not following the Move Over Law. The driver of the Weinermobile was let go with a verbal warning.
A spokeswoman for The Kraft Heinz Company (owners of Oscar Mayer), said in a statement that Wienermobile drivers get “extensive behind-the-wheel training before they can go out on the road.”
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is using this a reminder to motorists that when a vehicle is on the side of the road with its emergency lights flashing, the motorist is required to move out of the lane closest to the vehicle if possible.
If a safe lane change isn’t an option, or you’re driving on a two-lane roadway, you’re required to slow the vehicle, maintain a safe speed for traffic conditions, and drive at a reduced speed until completely past the vehicle.
