For The First Time in 50 Years, The NHRA Returned Without John Force Or His Cars
The NHRA returned to Lucas Oil Raceway in Indy over the weekend. But for diehard fans, one favored racer was missing. For the first time in 50 years, John Force will not be racing.
Naturally, the rumors are flying trying to speculate why. Some have said it’s due to traveling during the pandemic, but that theory has been shut down with the fact that Force’s shop is just a couple of miles from Lucas Oil Raceway. Force hasn’t commented on being MIA this weekend or if he’s planning on retiring altogether.
And it wasn’t just Force himself missing from the Raceway. The entire John Force Racing team, including Robert Hight who races Funny Car along with Brittany Force and Austin Prock who race Top Fuel were not present.
React104 posted a video welcoming back fans after the break:
“For it’s what you do in the darkness, that puts you in the light.”After 139 days of darkness, the NHRA’s best will emerge from the shadows this weekend and The Awakening is here to get you ready. Grab your best pair of headphones or speakers and prepare for an all-out assault on your senses. Share if you’re ready for some nitro. #React104
With or without him, the races went on.
