Ford to Provide Disaster Relief Efforts in Response to Hurricane Ian
In the wake of the disastrous flooding and damage in Florida caused by Hurricane Ian, Ford, along with Ford Pro and Ford Fund announced that they will be working with emergency services, nonprofits, local Ford dealers and other organizations to provide help and support to communities affected by the storm.
Ford and Ford Fund have already been in contact with Ford employees and dealers by helping people be transported to Salvation Army pop-up shelters.
The automaker is also donating $1 million to the American Red Cross, Team Rubicon, ToolBank USA, World Central Kitchen and local food banks to provide food, shelter, and clearing out roads of debris to make room for first responders.
Ford has also deployed and loaned out many F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid and F-150 Lightning pickup trucks, along with Transit and E-Transit vehicles for nonprofits to use and power their relief efforts.
Ford is also encouraging citizens to donate to the nonprofits mentioned above to provide additional assistance. Ford Fund is also expanding in its employee volunteer opportunities such as collections for food, clothing, medical supplies, and more.
