HOA Fines Woman For “Explicit” Shape Left Behind From Snow Melted Off Her Car

There have been a few cases recently of HOAs going a little overboard with fining residents. There was the case in California where residents were fined for leaving garage doors CLOSED as crazy as that might sound. Another HOA in Texas wanted to fine a man for having a tank in his yard. And now, this story out of Tennessee has surfaced on Reddit. And it honestly is the most ridiculous one we’ve seen so far.

The resident was fined $100 after her car inadvertently left a “male genitalia-shaped outline” in the condo complex’s snowy parking lot. I mean, are you kidding? Someone has a little too much time on their hands. The cause for the fine was “displaying offensive images or slogans.” And the person who reported it even took the picture above as proof.

The Drive reports that the HOA responded by saying, “Your car, specifically the Honda, left this offensive image on the ground after you left. I believe you will see why we have had complaints about it. One of our residents took the photo and reported it to us out of concern for our younger residents.”

And whether the spot was or wasn’t (which it most definitely wasn’t) in an explicit shape, this is something not in control of the resident. People are now expected to control how their vehicles defrost? Apparently.

After much back and forth between the resident and HOA, the matter was dropped with the board stating, “We understand. We will not be pursuing this further, in good faith pursuant to the wording of the by-laws.”

But the fact that this woman had to defend herself and Mother Nature for defrosting her car in such an “explicit” fashion is borderline hilarious.
