Homeless man nearly crushed by Waste Management trash compactor

A homeless man was almost crushed by a trash compactor after he fell asleep in a dumpster in an attempt to seek shelter from a chilly night in Jessup, Maryland.

According to KPRC2, a Waste Management employee called 911 after hearing screams coming from the back of his garbage truck.

Rescue crews were able to retrieve the man by lowering a ladder into the compactor. He was then taken to a local hospital with non life-theatening injuries.
