ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons iconic 1933 Ford “Eliminator” started off as a way to fulfill his desire to have a hot rod. Little did he know it would become a celebrity of its own. If you don’t know what Eliminator is, well, you haven’t done much listening of rock music since the 1980s. It was a big hit with “Gimme All Your Lovin’” and “Sharp Dressed Man” which made it a star of its own.

Gibbons credits the car with doing a lot for the band, lovers of hot rods, and also the sport of hot-rodding in general. Eliminator helped bring what some consider a dying hot rod culture at the time to the famed “MTV Generation”, helping launch the custom hot rod world to where it is today.
