If You Like Ricky Bobby, You’ll Like Dodge’s New Commercial

“If you ain’t first, you’re last.” If you’ve seen the 2006 film ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’ you’ll know what that line is from. The Dodge family motto has always been the Bobby family motto. Whether you’re in a Challenger, Charger, or Durango…American Muscle is leading the pack.

The commercial opens with the text “Talledega County 1981 (If 1981 had Hellcats).” The next shot is Gary Cole reprising his role as Reese Bobby, driving a Durango Hellcat and telling the young Ricky Bobby to pull over in his Charger Hellcat Redeye. Ricky ignores his father and yells his catchphrase, “I wanna go fast.”

Seeing as how the company sells multiple vehicles with over 700 horsepower, we have to say it’s a clever commercial. Dodge’s 2021 lineup includes three new SRT vehicles that were just introduced earlier this year: the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock, the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye, and the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat.
