In Memoriam: Jet Dragster Racer Katarina “Kat” Moller
It is with great sadness that we post the passing of jet dragster racer and fellow car enthusiast Katarina “Kat” Moller, just 24 years old. She was performing her first exhibition run in her “American Dream” jet dragster at Sebring International Raceway on Thursday night when things took a drastic turn. For some unknown reason, the “American Dream” jet dragster she was driving crashed at the track and is being investigated by local police. She was very popular at local tracks in Florida, and she received her degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Florida to take her racing passion even further.
Known as Kat, she had been racing for more than half of her life starting at just eleven years old behind the wheel of junior dragsters. As she grew older she started racing sportsman cars and dragsters before moving on to jet dragsters in 2014. For those unfamiliar, a jet dragster is a jet-powered car used for drag racing. She was in her fifth season racing with Larsen Motorsports.
Our condolences are sent out to all of her friends, families, and extended racing friends and family.
