Instead of Burnt Toast, Mom Chooses Burnouts For Mother’s Day Breakfast
Mother’s Day is all about recognizing the love, hard work, and sacrifice that our moms put into raising us since day one. While there are lots of ways to show your mom your love and appreciation like flowers, chocolate, jewelry, brunch, dinner, spa days, and so on. But what about spending the afternoon drifting and burning rubber in the 2024 Ford Mustang?
Celebrating Mother’s Day The Right Way
That is the case for drifting champion Vaughn Gittin Jr., who, for Mother’s Day, gave thanks to his mom Dawn for all the support she has shown him throughout his career by gifting her the thrill of riding in the 2024 Ford Mustang like a professional drifter. After a few one-on-one lessons with her son, Dawn makes good use of the car’s electronic drift brake and starts executing powerslides instantly. And to think Vaughn used to work in IT!
Also joining Vaughn and Dawn was Mustang chief engineer Laurie Transou, and her daughter, Claire for some Mother’s Day mischief. By engaging the car’s Launch Control through its touchscreen interface, Claire is out fishtailing on the track like the rest of the pros.
“One of the greatest joys of motherhood is teaching our children, sharing new experiences with them and watching them grow,” says Laurie Transou in a statement. “Mustang has the ability to make family bonds stronger by delivering fun experiences families can have together. Mustang has brought Vaughn together with his mom and me together with my daughter for an empowering and incredibly fun day!”
2024 Ford Mustang Specs & Features
The 2024 Ford Mustang is the first of the 7th-generation pony car that puts a very heavy emphasis on power and performance. Available in two engine options: a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost, and the 5.0-liter Coyote V8, this new Mustang sets the bar even higher in terms of balancing performance on public roads and race tracks.
Equipped in the standard Mustang GT coupe and convertible is the 4th-generation Coyote V8 engine that is slated to deliver 486 horsepower and 418 ft-lb of torque, which is the most amount of power packed into a standard V8 Mustang.
However, the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine is also seeing a boost in power by putting out 315 horsepower and 350 ft-lb of torque right out of the gate. A noticeable increase in engine power when compared to its predecessors.
Another tantalizing feature included on the new Mustang is its Performance Electronic Braking feature that makes cornering and maneuverability much easier without any sacrifice to the vehicle’s handling. Certainly a big selling point for drifters and enthusiasts (and moms) everywhere.
