This is one way to end a race. MotoGP racer Maverick Viñales managed to avoid a fiery crash, although the alternative was just as terrifying. Viñales jumped off his motorcycle while riding at approximately 130 mph when the brakes “exploded”.
During the Grand Prix of Styria, Viñales was on Lap 17 on the Austrian Red Bull Ring when he jumped off the bike and continued sliding down the track on his back and leg. Miraculously, he was able to roll over as he came to a stop and stand up, uninjured.
Unfortunately, the bike wasn’t as lucky. While the bike “ghost rode” off the track before crashing into an inflatable safety barrier head-on and bursting into flames.
One of the most terrifying #MotoGP crashes we've EVER seen!!! 😱

Viñales’ bike was cleared from the track and the race continued to a dramatic finish with Miguel Oliveira making a pass from third to first at the final corner to claim his first MotoGP win.
