Nashville Public Television to Host Celebration of Life for Joe Elmore

Nashville Public Television will honor Joe Elmore, the cherished host of “Tennessee Crossroads,” and POWERNATION with a public celebration of life on July 25. The event, held at the station’s headquarters, next to Nashville Speedway, at 161 Rains Avenue, will begin with tours and an opportunity to visit with Elmore’s family, friends, and colleagues from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. An hourlong memorial service, featuring remarks from Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, will follow at 4:30 p.m.

Joe Elmore was a true icon in the world of automotive and travel television. Joe, the beloved host of shows like “Horsepower TV” and “Muscle Cars,” passed away in the early hours of Monday, June 17. He was 80 years old, leaving behind a legacy that spans decades and touched countless lives.

The event is open to the public, but reservations are required and can be made for free at wnpt.org/events. Additionally, a tribute episode celebrating Elmore’s impactful career will air at 7 p.m. on July 25, featuring highlights from his tenure on the show.
