Over a Dozen New Ford Mustangs Stolen from Holding Lot
According to a report by Fox 2 Detroit, Woodhaven Police are on the search for suspects responsible for the theft of 12 to 15 new Ford Mustangs from Ford’s assembly plant in Flat Rock, MI.
Police say that the new Mustangs were stolen from the plant’s holding lot around 2 AM on Tuesday, September 20th. This has since been the second time the plant has been targeted by thieves.
Since the theft, police have recovered two of the stolen Mustangs.
“It’s not an isolated incident. I’m sure these teams have been arranged, probably have a decent leadership, they know what they’re where they’re going, they know where the easier targets are,” says Woodhaven Deputy Police Chief Jeffrey Brust.
On the same day, there was a separate mass auto theft at the Stellantis truck plant in Warren, MI where multiple Jeep Wagoneers were stolen off the lot. At least two SUVs with a value of over $100,000 were lifted before being caught by police.
