Pharmacist Delivers Meds Via Snowmobile During Polar Vortex
During the polar vortex this week that had already claimed nine people, people were urged to stay indoors, especially the elderly, as temperatures dropped well below freezing. One couple was snowed in and couldn’t leave to pick up the medication they needed. A local pharmacist in the small community of Lake Odessa, Michigan normally delivers meds to patients, but with her car snowed in as well. She decided to deliver by snowmobile.
“Blood pressure, diabetes meds, you do not want to stop those. You want to take those continuously,” said pharmacist Andrea Cusack.
