Ram Recalling 410,000 Trucks For Tailgates Potentially Popping Open
You may want to be sure to keep an extra safe distance from more than 410,000 Ram trucks out there on the road. They are being recalled for the potential for their tailgates to pop open at any given time.
A document was filed earlier this month with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration saying that Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks from 2015 through 2018 model years could have a problem with the tailgate assembly that could lead to its latches being released, “potentially resulting in the tailgate inadvertently falling open at any time”.
So far, FCA has gotten 127 warranty claims and repair orders “potentially” related to the problem but is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to it.
