Richard Hammond Walked Away From A Fiery Crash

The Grand Tour team has been in Switzerland shooting Season 2. And Richard Hammond was behind the wheel of a Rimac Concept One, an electric supercar from Croatia, when something went wrong. The Rimac Concept One is a limited edition of just 8 electric hypercars, which are equipped with four electric motors for a combined output of 1224 horsepower and 1180 ft.-lb of torque. But luckily, Hammond had no serious injury, and was able to climb out of the wreck on his own, according to Road and Track.

The Grand Tour issued a statement saying that Richard Hammond was involved in a serious crash after completing the Hemburg Hill Climb in Switzerlan. Richard was conscious and talking, and climbed out of the car himself before the vehicle burst into flames. We’d like to thank the paramedics on sight for their swift response. The cause of the crash is unknown and is being investigated.

He was air lifted to a local hospital to be checked over revealing a fracture to his knee. Nobody else was in the car or involved in the accident. Thoughts go out to Richard Hammond for a quick recovery!
