Rockstar Games Confirms New ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Installment
The Grand Theft Auto series has arguably become one of the most successful video game series to date, and its developer, Rockstar Games has confirmed that a new installment will be hitting consoles sometime in 2022.
So what can players expect in the new GTA? According to a statement by Rockstar, “With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.”
In the meantime GTAV: Online players will notice a few changes since the last update:
- Easy access to “Short Trips” missions
- In-game soundtracks by Dr. Dre expected to arrive on streaming services
- GTAV and GTAV: Online will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
- Graphics upgrades up to 4K resolution
- 60 frames per second
- Texture and draw distance upgrades
- HDR options and ray-tracing
- Faster loading times
- Immersive 3D audio
- and much more.
GTAV: Online has already become a massive hit on its own, boasting an insane selection of vehicles to choose from, including muscle cars, trucks, motorcycles, sports cars, helicopters, and even tanks!
Along with its wide inventory comes the option for players to outfit their rides with all the high-performance gear, turbo, and insane paint schemes that their hearts desire.
