Speeding Driver Ticketed For 99MPH Run To Taco Bell

Speeding tickets can be expensive. So people get crafty when coming up with excuses to get out of them. So during the crackdown recently from Minnesota police officers, they heard some pretty good stories.

Local news Fox 9 reports that one driver was caught driving 99 mph while making a frantic run for the border. Not the Canadian border, but a Taco Bell drive-thru before closing time. That’s a new one. But wait, there’s more! Check out these other stories the officers noted.

A driver was clocked going a much more modest 45 mph in a 35 mph zone after they borrowed a cake pan and was “excited to get home and start cooking.”

One driver got caught twice by two different troopers at the same exact speed, 79 mph, just a half-hour apart, said he was just being cool. Literally. “Trying to get air in the truck since the AC is broken,” he told police.

What’s the craziest excuse you’ve ever given to get out of a speeding ticket?
