The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Is ‘Almost Sold Out’
Chevrolet introduces the 2020 Corvette Stingray, the brands first-ever production mid-engine Corvette, Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Tustin, California. The 2020 Stingray features a new 6.2L Small Block V-8 LT2 engine producing 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque when equipped with performance exhaust. The mid-engine layout provides better weight distribution, better responsiveness and control, as well as the fastest 0-60 time of any entry-level Corvette. The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was highly anticipated and while it won’t even be in dealerships for months, it’s being reported that it’s virtually sold out already.
Autoblog talked with GM head designer Michael Simcoe in Troy, MI, wherethe mid-engine car was on display, and reported that “I think the orders have already hit the first year of production numbers.”

Simcoe then reported that “it’s nearly sold out. It’s so close that it’s bound to be sold out soon.”
Orders have been open for the car however it’s unsure when production and deliveries will begin. There also has been no confirmation on how many vehicles the automaker plans to build for the 2020 model year.

Chevrolet did not confirm Simcoe’s comments, but rather issued the following statement:
“The level of enthusiasm around the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has surpassed all expectations. We have nothing to report in terms of reservations or order numbers at this time.”
