The DOT Is Reminding People Not To Drive Their Ford Rangers

We reported the safety issue for Rangers a few weeks ago. But the U.S. Department of Transportation is reminding owners again to not drive vehicles with defective Takata airbags and to seek repairs immediately. The agency specifically recognized Ford Rangers and Mazda B-Series trucks from 2006, which are under a “do not drive” warning. The agency said it is “deeply concerned” that they are not being returned for repairs quickly enough.

Manufacturers report only 49% of affected Rangers, and 55% of B-Series have been fixed. Both automakers will have the vehicles towed to a dealership at no cost. You can visit NHTSA.gov and use a VIN, to find out if your vehicle is included in the recalls.
