The Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Is Officially The Most Powerful Pickup
Ram did not disappoint with the 2021 1500 TRX. The TRX is the quickest, fastest and most powerful mass-produced truck in the world with 702-horsepower from its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI® V8 engine. That’s right, it’s a 702-hp version of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat’s V8.
However, unlike the Challenger, the Rebel TRX is a high-performance off-roader. The truck comes equipped with a new suspension system and adaptive Bilstein dampers designed to handle speeds over 100 mph on rough terrain. Additionally, a Jump Detection system can sense when the truck is in the air and adjust its systems for a smooth landing.
The TRX comes standard with 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory All-Terrain tires that provide 11.8 inches of ground clearance and the ability for the truck to ford 32 inches of water.
Just because it’s geared towards offroading doesn’t mean it sleeps on the pavement, though. Ram states the truck can run 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, has a 12.9-second quarter-mile, and a restricted top speed of 118 mph. The TRX also has a payload rating of 1,310 pounds and max towing of 8,100 pounds.
There hasn’t been any pricing announced yet for the 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020.
While the Rebel TRX takes the title from the current power pickup, the Ford Raptor, it’s rumored that Ford is preparing a supercharged V8-powered Raptor to measure up.
