There Is Officially A Petition To Change The Mustang Mach-E’s Name

Ford had to have known it might have struck a chord when it decided to name the new electric crossover SUV a Mustang. And it got quite a bit of press when it was unveiled earlier this week.
Several people were less than thrilled with the Mustang label and have since started an online petition at Change.org to have the name changed. The petition’s founder, Jimmy Dinsmore, says the Mach-E “goes against the essence of what Mustang stands for in automotive history. It’s insulting to the tens of thousands of Mustang enthusiasts who love the Pony Car and support Ford.”
The Model E would’ve been a great name for the #MustangMachE still had Ford Heritage roots but not so offensive as dropping the Mustang logo on it! @Ford

Do you feel the Mach-E was appropriately named? Or should Ford have gone a different route?
