Thief Locks Himself Inside Car He’s Trying To Steal, Has To Be ‘Rescued’

The getting in is supposed to be the hard part. But this thief had trouble getting out. Police in Newtown, U.K., got a call to “save” a car thief who’d gotten himself locked in a car he’d stolen.
The department tweeted that they’d gotten a report of a man acting strangely inside a parked car, and when they arrived at the scene, they found him trapped inside the Ford Focus.
There was no explanation given as to why or how the man got trapped. Even though the Ford Focus has a regular, conventional door lock switch, officers opted to put a baton through the window to free him.
