This Guy Upsets His Wife After Building A ‘Drift Driveway’ Around His House
Her first reaction to the new addition was, “Who in the right mind builds a race track around your own house?”
Drift lover Takeshi Teruya decided to build a nearly 0.1-mile drift track around his home which his wife was less than thrilled about. Originally from Japan, Teruya moved to Hamilton, New Zealand in 2007. Teruya said that he had loved drifting ever since he learned how to drive and had been actively involved in motorsport for years. He got the inspiration for the track while attending the Leadfoot Festival, according to The New Zealand Herald.
Since land in Japan is scarce and very expensive to purchase, when Teruya stumbled across property in New Zealand property at a housewarming party in 2013, he knew it was time for a move. So he bought the house and started construction on the drift track. It cost him around $10,500 since he was able to do a majority of the work himself.
Luckily for him, most of his neighbors in the cul-de-sac neighborhood were all car lovers and even helped pitch in on the project when it came to the labor. On the other hand, his wife wasn’t as big of a fan. She did say that after a adjusting to it, she enjoys playing on the track with their two daughters.
If you had space and the resources, would you convert your driveway?
