Thousands Of Rental Cars Destroyed In Florida Airport Fire

The fire spread across 15 acres and destroyed more than 3,500 rental cars. A fire broke out at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in the overflow parking for rental cars. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Luckily, the fire was fully contained and extinguished Saturday after crews worked through the night Friday, putting out the flames to ensure it did not continue to spread or cause further damage.

Although over 3,500 cars were burned, more than 3,800 rental cars, were undamaged and relocated.
