Toyota Dealer Takes Jab At Chevy Buyers Waiting On Corvette C8s, Tells Them To Buy A Supra
The Chevy Corvette C8 has amassed quite a long wait time between global pandemics and production issues. And the list of people waiting is growing longer and longer. The Yokum Toyota dealership in Shreveport, LA noticed this and decided to take it as a marketing opportunity.
A user in the Corvette Forum took a picture of the billboard that Toyota so cleverly put an ad on, offering impatient Corvette owners to head over to the dealership and pick themselves up a 2020 Supra, no wait time included.
One commenter on the forum replied to the post saying, “Translation: ‘Please, please please buy my Supra no one wants!”
No matter which side you take, whether it was a clever marketing ploy or a jab at Chevy, you have to hand it to them for creativity.
With the C8 starting at only around $10,000 more than the 2020 Supra, it offers the mid-engined V8. Add that to the fact that it took the cake in hype, value, performance, and curb appeal and well, you can see why people are willing to wait it out for their shot at a C8.
