Toyota Ending Tacoma Production In US To Make Room For Bigger Trucks
Although the Tacoma is America’s best-selling small pickup, Toyota has decided to end production here in the U.S. This year is your last chance to buy the pickup while it’s still made in the USA.
The automaker announced it plans to shift all production of the Tacoma to Mexico staring in 2021.
The reason behind the move is that Toyota is looking to free up room at the San Antonio location before the launch of an all-new Tundra and is also moving production of the Sequoia SUV to the Texas plant. No jobs will be lost with the move.
Last year alone, there were 248,801 Tacomas sold in the U.S. which makes it the fourth best-selling pickup overall.
