TUG OF WAR: Ford Ecoboost vs Ram Ecodiesel
Ok this is sure to cause some debate!
On the left, we have a 2015 Ford F-150 3.5 Ecoboost and on the right, a Dodge RAM 3.0L EcoDiesel. Although the names of the powerplants sound similar, the engines are obviously a little different than each other with one being a diesel and the other being a gas burning engine. However, this doesn’t stop these guys from testing out which truck would win a tug of war matchup!
Both trucks are stock, so here’s a little more information on the specifications of each vehicle.
The 2015 Ford F-150 Ecoboost 3.5L Turbo V6 produces 365 hp, 420 lb-ft of torque and does 0-60 in 7.2 seconds. It also has an aluminum body.
The 2015 Dodge RAM 1500 Ecodiesel turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 24-valve diesel V-6 produces 240 hp, 420 lb-ft of torque and does 0-60 in 9.0 seconds. Unlike the Ford, it has a steel body.
As you can see, both trucks are well equipped when it comes to performance and engine power. Considering the diesel won, this creates a debate on diesel vs. gas engines, which has long been a debate in the truck world for many years.
What do you think about this? Who’s side were/are you on? Does this make you want to get a diesel engine truck? Let us know in the comments what you think!
