Video: 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang Unveiled In Detroit

The time has finally come for Mustang enthusiasts, particularly Shelby fans! The 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang was unveiled this morning at the Detroit Auto Show, and our very own Detroit Muscle’s Marc Christ and Tommy Boshers were in attendance to check it out in person.

Ford hasn’t released final numbers just yet, but it is going to crank out at least 700 horsepower out of a supercharged cross-plane V-8 engine making it Ford’s most powerful street-legal car yet. Shifting that power will be a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with no manual option available as of yet.

While the numbers haven’t been released for the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 powerhouse, Ford says it will run the quarter-mile in under 11 seconds. It’s 0-60 mph time will be a little over three seconds. The car will feature a carbon fiber driveshaft, MagneRde dampers, Michelin tires (Pilot Sport 4S tires optional), big Brembo 16.5-inch rotors with six-piston calipers for stopping power. An active valve exhaust system plays the soundtrack from the 5.2-liter V08 while inside features a 12-inch LCD digital instrument cluster.
