It takes incredible engineering to be able to bring a vehicle from 200mph to a complete stop. And the engineers behind the F1 cars have it down to a science. YouTuber Scott Mansell took a collection of brake parts from an F1 car and goes through what makes them work.
One of the main differences is that there are two master cylinders instead of one; one for the front and one for the rear. The cylinders are mounted on a pivoting fork that’s used to adjust brake bias. The calipers have their own unique design.
