Watch Out For New “Slider” Thieves

There’s always something new to be on the watch for. And if you live in Southern California, this is it.

You always need to be aware of your surroundings, obviously. But this is a new one you may not have thought to be aware of. This new criminal act is called “sliding” because the guys have been known to slide from gas station to gas station without being caught.

Once the thief has a victim, they creep down and manage to pop open doors while the car’s driver is on the other side of the vehicle pumping gas. They then take anything of value before the driver notices or gets back in the car. Unfortunately for this guy, he was caught on tape. So if you see anything suspicious be sure and trust your gut!
