Watch the Ford F-150 Raptor R in Action Ripping Through the Desert
In a short video shared by Ford CEO Jim Farley, we get a demonstration of the upcoming F-150 Raptor R as it rips and tears through the desert sands.
Online users believe the Raptor R will be equipped with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, similar to that of the Mustang Shelby GT500. It is reported that it will have an output of 725-750 horsepower, which will be a huge step forward when compared to the standard Raptor’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 putting out 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
No official info has been released for the Raptor R’s transmission, but fans believe it will either rock a 10-speed automatic, or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission just like the Mustang Shelby GT 500.
Eagle-eyed users have noticed a few other tasty tech specs that they can expect to find on the Raptor R, including a modified rear suspension, upgraded trailing arms, and its own wheel and tire package.
Prospective customers can expect to see the new F-150 Raptor R to arrive in Fall of 2022. It is estimated that the off-roading truck will have an MSRP of at least $70k.
