Why Filming Smokey and the Bandit Was So Fun

Smokey and the Bandit wasn’t just fun to watch, it was a blast to film according to Burt Reynolds. Even as they were improvising some of the scenes, the cast and crew knew they had a hit on their hands.

“What makes audiences like the film is that you’re watching people have the time of their lives. And they’re not faking it.”

Reynolds said not all films are that naturally fun to shoot but Smokey and the Bandit was never “work” for him.
