With Jaguar’s Facial Recognition Tech Your Car Knows When You Want Music Or A/C

If you need a change in temperature or a new song, Jaguar Land Rover is working on technology that will allow you to use facial recognition for that.

By using a camera and biometric sensors the system can monitor the driver’s behavior and modify cabin settings including heating, lighting and the infotainment system. For example, if it detects that you’re bored, it will automatically play your favorite podcast or song. And if you’re starting to doze off when driving, it will lower the in-car temperature to make sure you stay alert.

Likewise, the technology will be able to be applied to rear passengers. The car would be able to dim the lights and raise the temperature in the back.

The automaker is also currently developing another system which will let motorists earn cryptocurrency while they drive. It’s called Natural Interaction and could even allow drivers to book a table at their favorite restaurant just by pointing at it.
